From The Republic of Tea

Sweeten The Mind Tea – The smoothness of Madagascar vanilla beans takes over the first sip of this tea, sweetening the cup. Nutty almond follows, which sends it soaring to the realm of dessert. Try a strong brew with steamed milk for a tea latte.

Love this stuff. I found it was a lot more flavorful when ordering a fresh batch from Republic of Tea directly and loses its flavor if kept for a long time. Make sure you’re getting a fresh batch! Lovely almond flavors. Doesn’t get nasty even if you steep it forever.

Undrinkable. I’m not sure how anyone else can drink this tea, I found the aroma to be overwhelmingly like play-doh. Maybe my canister got messed up somehow, but I have never in my life been more disappointed in a tea. I would drink lipton over this any day of the week, and plan on throwing out the rest of the container. I tried it both hot and iced, hoping that the play-dohness wouldn’t be as strong if I cold brewed it but no luck.

This is one of my favorite “dessert” teas—I definitely have to be in the mood for something smooth and very rich. I have the wee bags of this. I would not guess by the taste that it’s a black tea blend, but rather rooibos. Maybe that’s just me. :)

Anyway, the almond vanilla taste is great, but perhaps on the chemically side, which is why I didn’t give this a 100 of pure delight.

Not as much of a fan of this one. It smells strongly of vanilla, and the taste is nearly the same. Not getting much almond in this one, which is disappointing. But that’s okay. One less tea to buy in my next RoT order. xD
I’ve really wanted to try this one, so I’m glad I finally did. And didn’t waste my money on buying it. Thanks to Rosehips for this one! (:

Another tea that I was absentmindedly drinking while playing Diablo. This sample came from NayLynn. I haven’t had a lot of experience with Republic of Tea, but I do enjoy the blueberry black teabags I have from them. These bags smell sweet and vanilla-y with a lot of almond extract aroma. I used two bags for 12 ounces of water and steeped for 4 minutes at 200 degrees.

Meh, this one is just okay. It came out slightly astringent, which is always a frustration for me with some flavored teas. The tea itself is medium-bodied and doesn’t taste like much. The flavoring is somewhat light, I taste the vanilla (which is a custard-type vanilla) near the beginning of the sip and then the almond extract at the end. Just meh.

I really enjoyed this tea! Although I am not a fan of almond flavors, I thought this was a very mild, nutty, slightly sweet cup. It’s a good cup to enjoy while reading a good book…

This tea always brings back memories for me. Like, when I first discovered it back in the late ’90’s, and all the cups I drank of it on crisp, fall mornings.

I usually drink this tea straight, but sometimes, a little milk helps.

Very vanilla-y. I know folks who live on this tea because they adore vanilla, it can be almost a maple syrup aroma when sweetened. I like it now and then as a break from other teas. Recommended to those who adore that flavor.

Until I ran into Teavana’s Almond Biscotti this was my favourite almond tea. It’s very, very good and I would still never turn it down.
