From The Tea Haus

This herb is grown in the wild and also known as Jiao Gu Lan (Miracle Grass). It is said to have powerful anti-oxidants and is used by the Chinese as a ‘cure-all’ herb. Its taste is sweet and pure with a pleasant aftertaste similar to stevia.

The Tea Haus honestly has so many teas at such reasonable prices; however, this one caught my eye while I was looking through their herbal tea blends. I believe jiao gu lan is supposed to be good for controlling blood sugar levels? But I honestly do not know.

I mostly bought this because it seemed like an interesting new herbal blend to try! :)

I did not expect the leaves to expand as much as they did while I made this, since they looked brittle and dry?! However, when they touch boiling water, the leaves expanded a lot – almost like an oolong.

As far as taste goes, it reminds me so much of stevia. Like a slightly herbal, bitter, sweet stevia?

I am not sure I will purchase more of this! :) But it was fun to try!
