From Trader Nicks Tea Company

After riding Cosmic Rewind, the craving for some cake toast inspired this cosmic dessert tea.

Tasting Notes: vanilla cake | toast | pineapple | orange

I think we are jumping back! Rewind and rock it through space and time with our Cosmic Cake black tea. I think we were supposed to be listening to Rocket about how to save the galaxy, but we are with Drax and could only focus on the deliciousness of this plan; Can we save rock n roll? “Piece of cake!” Are we 100% confident? uhh… “we’re all toast”. Sounds like a perfect recipe to join the Guardians of the Galaxy to me!

He asked for Cake Toast and we have delivered, in tea form. This sweet black tea combines the toasty taste of robust black tea and rooibos with fresh baked vanilla cake. The flavor is completed with a pineapple orange milky way frosting and silver cosmic sprinkles glittering throughout. You are in for a dessert tea that is simply out of this world! Time to get your headphones on and groove to the sweet sounds of cake toast.

Ingredients: black tea, red and green rooibos, honeybush, craisins, orange peel, candied pineapple bits, safflowers, calendula, lemongrass, vanilla flavor, pineapple flavor, silver sparkling sugar, cornflowers

This is described as a cake tea with pineapple and orange, which sounded delightful to me and made me think of hummingbird cake or ambrosia.

However, even though pineapple flavor is listed in the ingredients, I can’t taste any fruity notes at all here, not even a hint. It has a long list of ingredients, but ends up tasting like a buttery cake flavored black tea. It almost has a bit of a pancake-like flavor, with decadent butter and syrup notes. Which is fine, but not what I was expecting given the tasting notes and description.

It’s actually a bit much for me, since I’m not really a dessert tea person these days, so I’ll probably put this one into my rehoming box.

Ha the way you describe this sounds delicious to me!

I’m sure if you like dessert teas, you would enjoy it! I’m just at a place right now where I find very buttery type flavors a bit cloying.
