Sipdown! 48/365

Nope nope nope. I didn’t expect I’d like this one, and I am proven right. It tastes like light cinnamon and chamomile, with a base of woody (though not medicinal) rooibos. There’s also something else in there that I can’t place, but I’ve now put on green tea hand cream and can no longer distinguish flavours because it’s pretty potent (thank goodness green tea doesn’t actually smell/taste this floral… phew!) I’ll give it marks for looking neat (snowy rooibos with the chamomile!) but ugh. Chamomile.

I’m drinking the cup of it instead of dumping it in the hopes it will put me to sleep, haha. It’s not terrible, but nothing I’d want again. However, I still appreciate the share, MissB!

Sipdown (127)!

Sample comes from MissB!

Man, the pear in this is a total lie. I cold brewed my sample hoping for something that tasted like the nice cinnamon dusted, poached pear-like rooibos blends I enjoyed around winter this year but this is kind of a flop. It’s taken me almost all of the day to even half finish it; and it’s not disgusting or anything but there’s just no appeal either.

Here’s a flavour breakdown for you guys:

33% Chamomile (bleck!)
33% Cinnamon (which is just too much cinnamon)
33% Wood Chippy Rooibos Base

And… 1% Pear

I’m gonna toss the rest I think; it’s taking way too long to finish this.

Hmm.

I’m not sure if me not tasting anything is because of my cold or because of the tea not tasting like anything.

Mostly I get rooibos, then cinnamon. There’s chamomile in here? And pear? I don’t get those at all!

It’s too bad, because it smelled quite lovely dry. Lightly spiced yum.

I always click recommend on teas because I would love for the world to share a love of teas, just like a love of books.

This is not a tea that is overwhelming to the senses, it is just a tea. But like books, some people might not be able to get enough of it. Others might hate it, and others might taste once and forget about it. For my book reading tea loves, I recommend books that are either loved or hated.

Books recommended for this tea are: The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess

I would recommend a stronger steeping time to see if it brings out the flavors in this as well.

Another tea from MissB that i had a few days ago…just trying to get caught up on a few things. What i remember most about this tea was that is REALLY reminded me of something that i couldn’t place. Also, i swear MissB reviewed this but i don’t see her review. This isn’t overwhelmingly pear…it’s more chamomile than anything for me. Still though, it was a decent enough cup but nothing i will crave.
