From Unknown

These leaves of the raspberry canes, rather than their fruits, are used to produce this tisane. Its aroma and flavour combine to produce an unusual and lightly flavoured refreshing drink. Commonly drunk during pregnancy, its diuretic properties will also help reduce water retention and high blood pressure. Raspberry leaves can ease heavy or painful periods as they have a relaxing influence on the muscle of the womb. CAUTION It should not be taken during pregnancy, until the last two months, because of its possible muscle-stimulating effects. It may assist during the week after the birth to help the womb return to its normal condition. An infusion should be taken three times daily.
