From Verdant Tea

Master Zhang’s family has tended the Tieguanyin of Daping Village for generations. His tea is fed by sweet mountain springs and grows on the cloud-enveloped peaks of Anxi.

Master Zhang is proud to be sharing true Tieguanyin varietal oolong, fed by mountain spring water and grown without pesticides or fertilizers under the high mountain mist. Most Tieguanyin sold is actually Benshan or other similar varietals which lack the long drawn out aftertaste of Tieguanyin. The biodiversity of Daping lends complexity and depth of flavor to this tea, with a compelling combination of fresh aroma, clean flavor and compelling aftertaste.

Not particularly astounding or special. A pretty standard tasting tieguanyin- some notes of lilac, but overall kind of forgettable.

Backlog.

This was a pretty forgettable TieGuanYin. It had that generic TGY floral taste, but lacked the depth and intensity of really good TGYs. Also seemed to be past peak freshness. Tried it hot and cold steeped and didn’t care for it either way.

Flavors: Floral, Orchid
