From white2tea

The 2016 ChocoBar White Tea is a 100g brick, with a shape that is easily breakable for convenient brewing.
The brick is made of a blend of Yunnan large leaf varietal white tea that was sun dried. It can be aged or brewed immediately. The soup is soft and thick, with floral aromas and a creamy mouth feel.

I made it gongfu style, but I didn’t break the squares or did one full square. I treated it like I would with any cake. I find it a very good tea with some stevia sweetness, some wood notes and a linen texture at the first steps. Throughout steps 4 to 7 it started to feel it more honey like and the wood taste got more subtle.

100 gram brick and 9 squares are huge portion sizes for white tea! This brick is also hard to break due to the big leaf and tight pressing. Excercise caution!

I got 13 infusions, and likely more if I stove boiled it to finish. I got notes of linen, aloe, tulips, wood, honey, and a bit medicinal in the end. It is not as sweet as other white teas. I plan to let this brick age, otherwise right now it is pretty daily drinker like.

This was one of the very first compressed white teas that I ever tried, and to me it still holds as a really good daily drinker that just keeps giving! Seriously, the compression on this is so tight that you can really stretch the tea session for HOURS!! Plus, with 12g a piece combined with that compression it’s really time consuming getting the piece to fully open up. Like, I got around ten or twelve steeps in and the majority of it was still in tact – I simply didn’t have the time to brew out the session fully, and without a stove at my office to finish it off that way I simply had to abandon the session…
