This is my second time trying this chai from the Zhena’s Chai sampler I bought. I added some soymilk and stevia to bring out the flavor. I cannot taste the coconut at all unfortunately but can taste some vanilla. The chai spices overall are pretty mellow and not very special.

I’m upping my rating on this one. I’m finding I’m working my way through this canister pretty quickly and I look forward to it as much first cup of the morning.

I may go a head and put in an order for the loose leaf. I do wish the spices stood out a little more, but maybe the loose leaf will improve on that.

I was lucky to find this on sale at Giant Eagle for 3.50. Bargain! I don’t get much coconut, and the spices were kind of milk. I liked to drink it with some milk and sugar, making it a dessert tea except I drink it in the AM to help me wake up at work on days I know I will be skipping dessert. It’s a nice tea, I do really like it. But I will probably try some of the other flavors.

This is lighter in color than I expected, but the flavor is there. I wouldn’t say I taste the coconut all that much but the spices, yes.

I think this was the tea that made me like chai, since I used to hate it. This one convinced me because I love coconut! I used to be all about this tea in college, but I might have overdid it because I haven’t craved this tea in a while. But I do remember being super obsessed with it for a while.

This is quite possibly the best bagged Chai I’ve ever had! Rich and flavorful with lots of cardamom (just the way I like it!) and a nice hint of creamy coconut. It’s smooth enough to drink straight but also takes milk well. I foresee this one becoming a staple in my cupboard!

I approach all coconut teas with caution, and I have to say that this one was pretty good. I do like my chais bold, and this one was definitely milder than what I prefer. However, that also meant that the coconut wasn’t as strong, either, which for me is a good thing. This reminds me of Coco Chai Rooibos from DT, though this has a different base. All in all, I’m pleased with this sample, and I look forward to trying the rest.

Good with honey, sugar, cream, and or straight. To me, every ingredient highlights the other: the chai spices complement the coconut, and the coconut really brings out the malty, chocolate like body of the Assam. As with any Zhena’s, you need to go through the tin pretty quickly to get the fuller flavor. This tea is very sweet, and pretty strong, so it’s astringency can be overwhelming if accidentally over steeped. When brewed in around three minutes, it’s smoother.

A really nice, strong chai. I’m on my third infusion and just don’t taste the coconut, though – it seems the spice is overpowering it! I probably would have rated it higher if the coconut came through a bit more. Not sure if it’s just this batch or I’m just not picking up the coconut that other people can taste.

I picked up a tin of this at Whole Foods while visiting Minneapolis this weekend. We left around 8:pm and I arrived home in Fargo a little after midnight. The drive was cold. My apartment is cold. I am cold. So once I got a few things unloaded and put away I brewed a cup of this.

I wasn’t actually expecting much. I haven’t heard of Zhena’s, and generally I’m not a fan of bags in tins, but I wanted to buy a souvenir tea, and this looked like the best I saw on the shelf. This tea, however, is enjoyable. First of all, it’s warming, and not just because the temperature is hot. The spices are warming. It makes me feel cozy to hold the mug and sip this tea while waiting for the heat to come on. I won’t buy this one again, but i’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
