A very unassuming, yet punchy green tea. This is the kind of tea you drink when you want simple, fresh, no fuss green tea without fumbling with loose leaves and strainers. While not the best, this is VERY good for the convenience and no fuss nature of its preparation. Each sip is flavorful and rich, just the way I like my green tea.

The smell made me really excited to try it out. It was very spicy, rich and cinnamony. Reminds me of India right off the bat. Upon sipping though, the tea just tastes boring. Hardly any punch to it, which is a shame because it smells so heavenly. I agree with what the other reviewers say about it being watery. A good 60/100 right there.

Trying a splash of milk and a little bit of sugar – wow! Pleasantly surprised. I feel like I’m sipping a taste of India. Still though, I’d prefer it if the drink were stronger and spicier, at the recommended serving it was pleasant, but left a dry taste to your mouth. It mostly tastes like a strong base black tea (slightly bitter) with a subtle hint of spice to it. The review rating is for the tea with milk.

Probably would not purchase – it needs a stronger spicy kick to be truly ‘pure chai’.

I thought this tea would be peachy and lychee-like(although I don’t believe there’s any lychee in this tea) but once steeped according to the instructions it’s just a whole mess of bitter. Which is the complete opposite of what you’d expect it to be. It smells so sweet and promising… until you drink it.

With sugar (1 teaspoon ish): Not bad. I can taste the peachiness a lot more now that the bitterness has disappeared somewhat. It reminds me of lipton’s peach iced tea but more bitter, and without the obscene amounts of sugar they put in that drink.

For the price though, I don’t think it’s worth it! Going to try and see how resteeping will fare with this one. Or in the future, try steeping it at a lower temperature for the same time.

Resteeping (with sugar): All the bitterness have faded away and left behind a very distinctive light white/green tea. By that I mean that you can actually taste both the white and green tea! I can taste the peachiness a lot more now, and it almost reminds me of Teavanna’s orange blossom. But without the orange. It’s actually pretty great. I’d rate this particular steeping a 8.5/10

Tea temperature: Boiling and Steep time: a little over 4 minutes, maybe 4 and a half?

Score changed from 45 to 65

I was so confused when I smelt the tea… because I could literally not smell the leaves. So I got so curious and had to try it again. Got it in the Davidstea advent calendar and I could honestly not even recall trying it the first time. Was it so forgettable?

Upon steeping I could smell the ginger. It’s also slightly woody. Very comforting scents.

Without sugar: woody is the only word I can think of to describe this.
With sugar (a teaspoon or a little less): still woody but sweeter. Usually putting a little sugar helps bring out the flavors more for me, but this time there’s no discernable change in flavor except for it being a little sweeter.

Verdict: Drink without sugar! This would be a great concentration type tea to drink while studying.

Future tea tasting: Experiment putting a little more than a teaspoon, tea feels a little weak.

In all honesty though, this is a pretty forgettable tea for me! It’s great for when you want a neutral drink though.

This tea has a very strong lime flavor! After steeping I smelt it and it smells just like a slice of lime. The tea is pretty refreshing, and you can definitely taste the lime. Lime gelato tastes exactly how it sounds. It’s like… tea limeade. Simple and yummy.

Wouldn’t change tea steeping/teaspoon amount.

I got a sample of this and I loved the smell right of the bat. So much that I sealed off the sample in a zip lock bag so I can remind myself how nice it smells. It’s cinammony and tastes nicely spicy but it doesn’t wow me.

drank Movie Night by DAVIDsTEA

Tea smells WONDERFUL! Dry it makes me crave movie theatres and when you’re drinking it, you really do feel like you’re actually at the movies! But the tea itself is very very light, recommended if you want water with a hint of tea flavor if you use the amount stated on the packet. There’s a hint of popcorn at the end of the sip, but like everything else with this tea, it’s very light. The smell is the best point of this tea. If you want taste though, I wouldn’t go for this.

Dry leaves smells like medicine, but once brewed it has a nice warm, chai smell to it. Steep for a shorter time – I steeped for 6 minutes (the recommended time was 4-7 minutes and I like my teas a little more bitter) and you can definitely taste the bitterness. It says it contains coconut but I can’t taste the coconut in it. Tastes like caramelly cinamonny chai. Great, but nothing special.
