Out of all the teas in the winter collection, this one is my least favorite. I’m beginning to find that I’m not a huge fan of green teas to start, and this one is no different. Almonds and green tea are an odd combination. I don’t taste either with this tea. It was just a cup of…bland. I’ll give it another shot, but as of right now, I’m just drinking this tea to get through it.

I’m not a fan of mint and chocolate whatsoever, so trying this tea, I was a bit wary. However, upon taking my first sip, I found it quite enjoyable. This is probably because the mint overpowers the chocolate, as others have mentioned. There’s definitely a hint of it there, but it’s not as prominent as the peppermint (which makes no sense because of all the cocoa that’s in this tea). It’s got a smooth feel that’s nice and creamy. Right now, I’d recommend it but I’ve only had one cup. I’ll get back to you with an updated review.

I said before that the jury is still out on this tea, but after my cup this morning, I can definitely say that I really do enjoy this tea. As I mentioned, if I sweeten it with agave, it’s earthy, but a lot sweeter. I don’t really have anything new to add except that the final consensus is that I like the tea and would recommend it if you’re into earthier teas or looking for something different. If you’re only into dessert tea, I don’t think you’d like it.

I got this tea in the Winter Collection box. I’m slowly making my way through each tea, deciding whether or not I like each one.

This one was the first I tried, and in all honesty, I wasn’t sure how much I liked it. I made it again today and each sip makes me giddy. I have no idea what cardamom tastes like, but I’m sure that comes through, and paired with the cinnamon, I definitely get the feel of a french toast. I’ve sweetened the tea with both honey and agave nectar and found that agave nectar really brings out the coconut and cane sugar.

Overall, I’m really enjoying this tea in the morning and I definitely see how it fits into the Winter Collection.

It has taken me forever to drink through a bag of 15 tea bags with this tea. I’ve had a love-hate relationship with this tea. At first, I really did not like this tea because it was just a watered down version of a chai tea (milk especially didn’t help. It only added to the watered down-ness of the tea). It wasn’t until recently that I found (as with so many other teas) if I sweetened it with light agave nectar, the taste was what I was looking for. It’s a nice spicy chai tea with a little kick of apple. Turned out to be a great tea for autumn.

I knew what I was getting into when I smelled this tea in the store. It is a VERY earthy tea that reminds me of a vegetable soup and I figured I’d try it to have something different in my cupboard. Overall, I enjoy the tea, but I’ve switched from using honey to light agave nectar to sweeten it. The agave cuts through the earthy-ness of the tea and makes it bearable. Mind you, I’m used to drinking teas like the birthday cake tea, peanut butter cup, etc. Jury’s still out on whether or not I’d recommend this tea. It may very well be an acquired taste.

I chose this tea as one of my free samples with my last DAVIDsTEA order. Holy wow, I’m in love with this tea. I’m from Chicago (or the suburbs if you really want to get technical), and every year when I visit the Christkindlmarket, I almost always get cinnamon coated roasted almonds. It’s my absolute favorite thing ever. That being said, Forever Nuts is both the taste and smell of that in tea form. It reminds of Christmas and wraps me in happy memories from that time of year. I don’t taste a whole lot of the apple or beet root in it except for maybe a slight tang from the apple. The most prominent flavor is the almond, so if you’re not a fan, I’d say skip this one. However, if you are, I’d highly recommend it.

Bio

Hello there!
My name is Carrianne. I’m a 23 year old journalism student from Chicago.

My tea obsession started a few years ago when a friend and I stumbled across Adagio Teas. I started drinking tea in tea bags, but discovered the beauty of loose tea and DAVIDsTEA and fell in love. From there it snowballed into an obsession and I easily drink at LEAST 6 cups of tea in a day now.

While I’m sipping on some tea I enjoy:

Reading (just about anything. Right now I’m super into high-fantasy though.)
Writing
Doctor Who
AHS
Netflix
Cuddling my dog
Homework (Not really, but it is what it is. You know?)
Online shopping (Especially for tea.)
