26 Tasting Notes
I got this as one of my Butiki samples (they allow two samples with every order). This tastes great! I was looking for a banana flavored tea and this was perfect. The flavor is bold but not overpowering, and it is a more natural flavor rather than artificial. I added a little sugar to this and it really brought out the flavor. My only complaint is that it loses its flavor quickly; by the 2nd steeping the tea flavor was still there but the banana nut flavor was very significantly reduced… but I suppose that is to be expected with these types of teas. Definitely something I would order again, and I could easily see this becoming one of my favorites over time.
These tea leaves smell incredible. Sadly, I found the taste of the brew was extremely weak. I followed the directions of brewing 1/2 tbsp @ 212F for 5mins. I even tried it the second time with extra tea and more brew time. Still, watery tasting. Perhaps I got a bad batch or something? I may give this another try in the future, but for now I cannot recommend it.
This tea smells very good – strong and very “clean” lychee scent. The lychee taste is a little more subtle, but still definitely identifiable and not hidden. There is a bit of sweetness there, but I still prefer to add a tiny bit of sugar to help bring out the flavor a little more. I also tried this a couple times with Coconut Cream Milk and it was great. I received this as a sample from a tea subscription service, but I plan to order more of this (and update the log with more detail) next time I check out Mighty Leaf.
The smell of this tea is extremely bold. The smell of the raw leaves almost sticks to your nose – you can smell it even 20 minutes after the tea is put away. The ingredients are white tea, jasmine flowers and roasted chestnut flavoring. It tastes very nutty, creamy, and caramel y.
It would be interesting to try this tea iced.
1tbsp in 8oz of “not-quite boiling” water for 3.5 minutes.
Flavors: Caramel, Chestnut
I brewed this as my first iced tea. I used 1tbsp and 8oz of cold water for 8 hours in the fridge. It turned out tasting very naturally sweet and bold. Obviously very fruity, but perhaps with some subtle floral tones as well. I really liked the diversity of the overall taste – it was smooth enough to be a relaxing drink, yet bright enough to be a mid-day drink. Very refreshing and crisp.
The only reason I did not score this tea higher is because I did not enjoy it as much when it was brewed hot. Definitely recommend trying it iced.
