TTB tea! I mostly taste licorice. It’s pretty watery otherwise with really very little ginger.

TTB tea! I wish I had given this a shorter steep, as it turned out a little sour and wine-like. Cold with sugar, it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t something I would pick again. There are lots of spices in here, but I couldn’t really taste them.

I love Taiwanese teas, and Ruby teas, so I was excited to find this Taiwanese Ruby White in the TTB. I’ve never had a Ruby White before! I’m a little worn out today, so I made this Western-style to minimize trips back and forth to the kettle. Made exactly per instructions, it brewed up pretty pale but flavorful. The first steep had notes of honey, vanilla, and florals, plus that almost savory, light bready note that white tea can have sometimes. Steeps 2 and 3 had more of that not-quite-bready note, stronger vanilla, and some mild astringency. I paired those steeps with a Te Company butter cookie topped with rose jelly, and it was a perfect match, with the snack mirroring and highlighting those same notes in the tea.

It’s a decent enough tea I just kept forgetting I had made a cup.

Atlas Tea Club’s description says this is kind of a hybrid black and oolong. I don’t get any oolong characteristics from it. It tastes like a mild black tea to me, with a hint of orange pekoe flavor. It’s OK, but nothing special.

My first Colombian tea & it was delightful. It might even be my new favorite.

I started out not having any particular feeling about this tea – I could take it or leave it. But the more I drank it, the more I liked it.
