2017: How much will you spend on tea this year?

Checked Mint and my tea spending clocked in at $669 this year. That’s over my $500 budget but it’s okay because with my recent Black Friday/Cyber Monday purchases, I have plenty of tea to sip down until the spring.

Where I really splurged was my teaware purchases. The damage totaled $545, way above what I was planning to spend. This year I broadened my focus to teaware and aesthetics in my tea drinking. Bought a few quality pieces of teaware that have served me very well particularly my shibo, xi shi teapot, and kyusu and as well as other accessories to enhance the tea ceremony experience. Quite content with the collection I have now. With the exception of a kensui bowl en route from Japan, I don’t expect many teaware purchases in 2018.
