Which is the healthiest tea? #WorldHealthDay

I’m stumped. I find every tea to have great benefits, so how can one tea have all the benefits that everyone needs?

What you’ll usually find is that catechins in green tea, and more specifically EGCG are responsible for most of the health benefits.

However, a catechin rich tea also tends to be more bitter and astringent. To get the highest quantity, you also need to drink the tea in powdered form.

I don’t recommend to drink tea just for its health benefits. It’s better to actually enjoy it. If you only care about health and not aroma nor taste, you might as well buy green tea extract and forget about the tea, it’s cheaper that way.

That’s a great way of looking at it. I’ll surely enjoy my tea some more.

I absolutely loved the blog! It’s very calm and classy. The benefits of Sencha was well put. Since I have never tried sencha, I look forward to trying some from you. Any recommendations for a hardcore Darjeeling tea lover’s first sencha?

Different teas have different health benefits.

For example green tea and black tea have different chemicals.

The title might go to matcha though.

The most healthful tea is the one you drink after finishing your daily exercise routine.

Oh! Absolutely!

MrQuackers is right. Different teas have different health benefits.

A certain tea might be healthier for person A vs. person B just due to their individual body/health conditions.

In general, green, white or oolong tea is a pretty good way to balance a diet with grilled/fried foods due to their anti inflammatory properties. Puer is great for digestion and promoting better blood flow. Jasmine can promote relaxation. All teas have anti-aging effects to various degrees via antioxidants.

Try a bunch and be conscious of what makes you feel best, as in what actually makes you feel good.

Sencha, Gyokuro, bancha and matcha are probably pretty close to the best you can find.

That being said, Puerh, raw, ripe and aged have well known health benefits. Black teas have powerful anti oxidants. White tea has been a medicine in traditional chinese medicine for ages.

This all being said, with every something good comes something bad, my recommendation is to find a good balance of different types.

I have always had black and white teas from the Indian subcontinent. I find the white teas perfect for hot, tropical summers and black teas perfect for spring, autumn and winters. Darjeeling has always been my choice in tea.

Everyone knows that green tea becomes a “poison” after 20 mins. Keep it mind and use in instantly only

I would say matcha. While other teas infuse their nutrients in to the water, they still don’t get every bit. With matcha you are consuming all of the leaf, and thus all of the nutrients. That said, I Wouldn’t drink a tea I didn’t like just for the nutrients. Also, while tea is good for you, it’s far from the panacea some supplement companies portray it as. Tea is part of a healthy lifestyle that also includes exercise and healthy food.

I follow Dr. Greger and he says it’s hibiscus tea. He’s mentioned chamomile before too. https://nutritionfacts.org/2013/09/03/hibiscus-tea-the-best-beverage/ I drink rooibos every day for the mineral content of it and it’s supposed to have a high level of antioxidants too. I think there are too many healthy teas to choose from. I would say it all depends on what health benefits a person is looking for and whether or not to avoid caffeine.
