Best online shop for White Teas?

Not a huge selection, but I’ve been pleased with all of the white teas from http://imperialteagarden.com

I’m usually not into white teas, but I’ve had some great ones from Mandala Tea:

They’ve got your silver needles and white peonies, but there’s also interesting things like White Night (apparently ages into black tea- haven’t gotten to try it yet!), Wild Arbor Buds / Yabao, and two sheng pu’ers made entirely from silver needle white tea.

To me, the fact that Mandala includes some aged white teas makes Mandala a good place to go if you really want to try an interesting range you might not find elsewhere. I’ve only tried a few things (Silver Needle and 2008 Silver Buds Raw / sheng), but I’ve enjoyed them all. They’ve made me realize that white tea can be fun, too.

I don’t know off-hand what their shipping policy is to Canada, but I bet you could e-mail the owner or give him a call; he’s a nice guy!

Recently had this Darjeeling white tea first flush 2012 from Avangrove T.E. . It was simply amazing. Blew my mind off. Had a pleasing attributes for every senses.
But I may be teasing you a bit by mentioning that this tea (About 10kgs) ran, too soon, out of stock.
Nevertheless, there are other teas from Mim and Avongrove which happens to be available currently.

If you are looking for a “true” white tea that comes from the Da Bai Hao cultivar, then your choices are limited, at least here in the United States. You can tell a “true” white tea from other white teas by the Silver Needle’s striking white appearance. I might recommend the Red Blossom Tea Company in SF, Seven Cups in Tucson, and Jing Tea Shop online. Intelligentsia also offers this tea, but they are currently out of stock.

I had some nice Organic Silver Needle from Puripan in California…online they’re under
teao2.com and the Jasmine Silver Needle is very delicious (for me especially since I don’t like jasmine as a rule…think most are artificial tasting).
