A lovely little tea poem

I found this while reading on a rainy day recently:

. . .

“The Teapot”

That morning I heard water being poured into a teapot.
The sound was an ordinary, daily, cluffy sound.
But all at once, I knew you loved me.
An unheard-of thing, love audible in water falling.

(from “Talking into the Ear of a Donkey: Poems”, by Robert Bly, W. W. Norton & Company, 2011. )

. . .

Instantly became my favorite tea-related poem. Thought some of you might enjoy it as well. Happy drinking, everyone!

That’s lovely, thanks for posting…I shall have to share it with the beau to remind him that if he loves me, he must make me tea. : )

Lovely poem!
Now I wonder if the only guy who shares my tea every day would have similar thought. To be honest, every time I talk to him about tea, I feel as if “talking into the ear of a donkey”, heehee…
