Akbar Tea
Greetings Everyone!^^
I have been searching all over the internet for Akbar Fruit-flavored Ceylon Tea Bags (apple and peach). However, I haven’t had any luck findings anything.:( Could someone PLEASE tell me where I can order these Akbar tea bags? Or, does anyone have any that they would be willing to sell or swap with me? :)
Thank you!!
ITS A TRAP!!! lol… I couldn’t resist :P
Haven’t heard of them though, sorry
I was totally just coming into this discussion to say that and you beat me to it!
Where are you and which country have you tasted it? I see Akbar teas a lot in a foreign (spanish) department store supermarkets called El Corte Inglés though not sure I have seen those two particular flavours. Are these two flavours good? The only times I had tea of this brand (green with lemon and earl grey) I really did not like those.
cteresa: I am in the US, and I actually brought back my Akbar tea from a tea festival in South Korea. Actually, Akbar is abrand of finest Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka! And, As I could only bring back about 5-6 boxes, my tea supply is almost totally running out. :( If you would like, you can have a look at the tea I am talking about on their homepage: http://www.akbar.com/product/flavoredtea.php?pid=1018
I want this brand in paeticular, because its full of flavor and makes for a wonderful cup of milk tea!:)
Thanks for your reply!!
I know this tea, it is rather cheap in those supermarkets I spoke of. Of what I have had it is emphatically not my cup of tea. I sometimes like ceylon tea but the flavourings just not to my taste.
But googling akbar peach tea, the first result is this one
http://www.sweetgourmet.com/Akbar-Peach-Black-Tea-P732.aspx
and they got other akbar flavours, is that seller an option for you?
And I noticed got ahmad´s as well, and twinings – both of which I would recommend (particularly Twinings!). Ahmad might be the same type of flavoured tea indeed, if you want something very intensely flavoured for milk tea.
I live near a pretty cool international supermarket, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen these. Next time I am there, I will double check for you though, because they sound good and the place just started expanding on tea (which is funny to say because there’s already tea in like every region already)!
check for ahmad´s tea as well – it is the same type of tea, but IMO a bit better. To each their own cup of tea, and we all got special tea loves others do not share, but Akbar is not tea I would recommend investing a lot of effort or money looking for.
They do have Ahmad’s, I have bought it before there. I go there to grocery shop about once a month and always have to look around the entire store, so it’s definitely not like a special trip or something at all. In fact I should probably write down everything they have and see if that helps anyone get something they’ve had elsewhere and can’t find.
Ahmad’s is not quite my cup of tea but that is just my taste, I usually like things a bit less strong. Though I have been eyeing their strawberry tea, must try it. And some earl grey lovers I know swear by their earl greys.
Akbar, as I said taste is subjective but is the tea brand easily found on supermarkets I will not buy. Everything of theirs I have had has been undrinkable to my taste, tanninic tea and very strong artificial flavours. Maybe some is good but I can not trust a company which sells without any shame something like their green tea with “lemon” ( if ant ingredient on that tea ever got within a km of a lemon tree I would be very surprised!)
Thanks for your helpful replies, everyone!
I have placed an order for a couple Akbar Peach and Mixed Fruit tea bags from the link cteresa shared!!:) I still have yet to find Akbar Apple Tea bags though, as it is not offered there. So, if anyone knows where I can find Apple, please do let me know! :)
Thanks all and have a great day!!
