Help in how to edit an added tea

I added some teas I bought from my local tea store to the database so I can add them to my cupboard and auto correct changed “Iceland” to “Island” in raw island yunnan pu that I entered. I tried to go back and edit but it’s not letting me for some reason?

Open the page with tea, for your instance it’s: http://steepster.com/teas/oregon-coffee-and-tea/102707-raw-island-yunnan-pu

And there you can see link Edit tea info. It will change the link as well, so don’t worry; you will get it soon!

Ok hmmmm…. I’m doing that and it just keeps reloading the teas page with no way to edit. I wonder if it’s because I’m on an iPad?

Could be, as it is not moblie-friendly page; however it’s a bit strange? Maybe it is because you are a new member? I dunno.

My guess is that it’s because you’re a new user. I changed it to Iceland. Let me know if it’s wrong: https://steepster.com/teas/oregon-coffee-and-tea/102707-raw-iceland-yunnan-pu

Looks great, thanks!

Just confirming, you are right, it’s because I’m a new user. I hit the button again and this time a box in the lower corner popped up saying my account needs to be a month old first. Not sure if that popped up before and I just didn’t see it or not.

On a related note is there a way to flag that a tea is actually available when the page says it isn’t?

Unfortunately, no. The minimods have been restricted/don’t have the Permissions needed to edit this on the back-end (I’ve tested it).

It was originally a remnant of an ‘Affiliate Link’ setup from the original Steepster owners. It sorta went nowhere/was never fully implemented. A couple years back, when Adagio took ownership, they were also tried to re-implement the affiliate links, or replace them with ‘Adagio Recommendations’, but that also seems to have fizzled.

I don’t know if they’re too keen to do anything about it if you were to reach out. The last time anything came up was when a specific company requested to have their links added, and I don’t know if that was ever resolved to be honest…

You’ll find 99% of the teas say “Out of Stock” though. It’d be a pretty big undertaking, even if the minimods were given access, and I don’t know if the site has the code to ‘check’ if a link still worked.

At this point it’s just one of Steepster’s many Quirks.
