Teavivre and tariffs

The Teavivre website states that shipping to the US is normal, and they will cover 100% of the taxes (which I guess is the same thing as tariffs) through May 3rd. A few days ago it said through April 30th but that has been extended. If there is something you feel like you can’t live without, order fast!

There is a caveat that under the new method, shipping may take longer than usual.

They sent an update email yesterday, saying basically the same thing. They’re going to take care of taxes and fees (yes, that’s the tariffs). Orders are still being processed and shipped normally, but may take longer to arrive (like they said before). They’re trying to maintain price stability, which I’m sure is hard for a small business right now! I appreciate that they’re making the effort to communicate with customers about this.

I wonder if having the US warehouse helps them avoid some of the costs? I don’t see how the tea companies can absorb too much cost without losing a lot of money. I hope they all do well.

I was thinking either that or something about the economies of scale related to keeping the warehouse as a shipping base for US orders. Agree, I hope they do well, seems like every small business I frequent is figuring out how to adjust and worrying about feasibility.
