Tea Packaging- Mass
I work for a company that has recently decided to start packaging our own tea,with a few special ingredients. Some of the ingredients we use tend to stick to the paper bags and dont allow a proper steep.
I have looked and looked, seemingly to the end of the internet and back, for a Nylon, Polyester, or PLA mesh bag. I have two heat sealers, so sealing isn’t an issue.
We had the idea to look for the pyramid bags, but havnt found a thing that would work, or anywhere to buy them for that matter.
I’ve even tried just finding a basic Nylon Tea Bag, again heat sealable, and have found nothing.
The closest thing I have found was in a set of 10 for 4.00. We’re looking at producing over 1,000 bags a month. Not too cost effective for us.
I’m finally bringing myself to other tea people to see if anyone has any information. My deadline for the product launch is fast approaching. My recipes and mixes are complete, even the labels! This darn bag situation is killing me though.
Any help is SO appreciated.
I’m gathering you want to steep the tea in bags? Could you not jut sell it as loose leaf instead?
They do have bags that you can put the tea in but they don’t seal. You can get a big box of 100 for not too much. I think they are by t-sac.
T-sac doesnt quite have the look we are hoping for. We are dealing with gastronomy, think powdered oils. The nature of the ingredients require the tea to be pre-bagged in pre-determined serving sizes..
We are a medical edibles company from Washington.. So there are certain standards required by us by the state.
A heat seal is really our only option, and paper bags just haven’t been successful.
Has anyone used Alibaba in the past? I’ve contacted a few sellers and received samples but they never end up being what is advertised. It’s gotten incredibly frustrating. I was hoping that someone might have a connection from within the United states.
We’ve already had issues with shipping costs being extrodinarily high..
I’ve had them range from 1.00 for ten bags to 60.00 for ten bags.
