Big news!!!

I have some big news — Whispering Pines is headed back to Michigan!

For the past two years, I have been growing the company in hopes that eventually it would fund a move back home. While being located in different locations over the past two years, my heart has always been in Northern Michigan. After all, it is the land of inspiration — the place that created who I am, and in turn, what Whispering Pines has become.

I am proud to announce that because of my amazing customers, I am finally able to go home! On June 1st I begin the journey from Arizona to White Pine, Michigan, just southeast of the Porcupine Mountains. The expected arrival date is no later than June 4th.

I will keep the website open to orders during the move, but they will not be fulfilled until I complete the move and settle into my new home. All orders after Wednesday the 28th at 11:59pm will be filled after the move and sent out no later than Monday, June 9th.

I can’t thank you all enough for helping me grow the business to this point, though I can promise you a few things. Firstly, be on the lookout for new teas. With inspiration comes new teas, and finally going home is sure to provide me with plenty of inspiration! Secondly, rest assured that no matter how much Whispering Pines grows, my quality, handmade traditions, and customer care will always be top-notch. And finally, I can promise you many photos of my new homeland! You can follow my photography on Facebook at Whispering Pines Photography (http://www.facebook.com/whisperingpinesphoto) or at www.lifethroughthepines.blogspot.com.

Once again, than you for making all of this possible! I couldn’t have done it without you!

Cheers,
Brenden Gebhart
Owner and Tea Mixologist

I’m sipping on this tea. It’s a comforting tea and it’s bringing me home :)

Good for you, I grew up in northern Wisconsin, so I know how you feel. My mother moved to Arizona late in her life, I could understand it but couldn’t even mail cheese to that kind of weather.

I despise Arizona…no clue why I’m even here! haha :)

Seriously, how did you wind up there?

I came out here for college for a few years, then I left for San Luis Obispo, California (which I disliked WAY more than Arizona), and somehow ended up back here for two more years. The allergies, dry air, altitude headaches (nonstop for the entire time I’ve lived here) and empty open space with no real forests has driven me mad. Plus I can’t even get water past 203º here! :P

I am in a panic going anywhere without local milk, cheese, sausage and apples.

Mmm I don’t generally have dairy, and I essentially eat the Mediterranean diet, so not having local milk and sausage won’t be an issue for me :) Those Michigan cherries and apples, though… <3

Make sure you mark the boxes with tea clearly and all will work out. My family thought I was crazy, but I had the tea packed and left accessible as soon as we arrived so I could sit back with a cuppa. Once the mugs appeared, that is. :)

Oh yes, absolutely! I’m actually going to be traveling with a 4×4×8 trailer, but all inventory will be in the air conditioned car with me, clearly labeled and very easily accessible, so that when I arrive, the first thing to get set up is the tea blending room. Customers first! ;)

If you need to, the order I just placed can wait til you get home. No hurry.

Oh, no worries, it’s almost filled already :)

Congrats! It’s always a good feeling to go home! It’s especially nice when it’s a beautiful place :)

I can’t imagine the freezing cold temps so long in the winter.. No wait, maybe I can after this year’s winter.. brrr. -15 F is cold! I guess where I’m at in Indiana it’s hot and humid in the summer, cold & snowy in the winter, and ugh… tornados when you least expect them.

Hehe, I miss the -40 F wildchill on the beach of Lake Michigan :)

I’m weird though, and I feel like 80º is far too hot to be outdoors in!

Yep those look like the north. I love the desert but those photos are where I am from, and I moved back to rural Wisc from the city almost 10 years ago. I can buy milk less than 24 hours old just across the street, I eat local meats and cheeses as well as local spring water, people grow asparagus wild in the forests, it just doesn’t get any better than this for me, so that is why I am still here.
