Big news, again!!!

Hey all!

Big things are happening at Whispering Pines, and I think ya’ll should know about them!

Firstly and most importantly, I am moving to Oregon in one week! This was a pretty spur-of-the-moment decision that I’ve since realized is necessary for my sanity and survival as a tea hobbit :-)

So, from now ‘till the 17th, everything on the site is 5% off. Unfortunately that’s all the discount I could give, since I’ve been in a stock crisis lately and business has been pretty dead for a couple weeks.

Speaking of stock crisis, Cocoa Amore, Elderwood, and Rivendell are out of stock and do not yet have an estimated arrival date. This is due to a shortage of grade-A Tahitian vanilla beans, which I am trying very hard to get ahold of again. Soon I hope! :-)

That being said, Madagascar vanilla is arriving on Tuesday, and 2 pounds of Golden Orchid, 1 pound of El Dorado Chai, and 3 ounces of Port are available for pre-order.

Good news in the Golden Orchid area of things, it just had an upgrade! The base tea (our house black), North Winds has been at the top of my list for months. I’ve been sampling countless teas to find the right one for the blend, and I finally came across the right tea for the job. I’d highly recommend checking out the new Golden Orchid as well as the new North Winds!

The order cut-off date to have your order filled before the move will be noon (EST) on the 17th of October. All orders after that date will ship around the 27th of October.

I really appreciate your continued business and I’m looking forward to more inspiration in the mossy forests of the Pacific Northwest!

Let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to assist you!

Cheers,
Brenden Gebhart

I loved the Golden Orchid! Disappointed you still don’t have Rivendell. I haven’t tried that one yet and it’s one tea I really wanted to try.

Yeah, it’s pretty unfortunate, it’s a really hard one to keep in stock :-(

Cool, Cool, Cool!
Where in Oregon are you moving to, if I might ask?
You gonna live more in the woods or in..civilization? XD
I ask because most of my relatives live up there, but like deep in the woods where there aren’t many people-haha!
Hope wherever you end up will be a good place for your tea business! It’s gorgeous there!

I’m moving just outside of Portland in a happy little valley called Happy Valley :-) There’s actually people there…it’ll be weird! ;-)

All of my sales are online, and I don’t plan on opening up a shop, so luckily for me, everywhere is good for the business! :D

Happy Valley is beautiful. I live in Vancouver, WA, which is on the border of Washington just as Portland is one the border of Oregon. It took some adjustment, but I love it here.

Mmm Vancouver is also beautiful! I’m really excited about being by the CRG and Mt. Hood wilderness, too!

Ooo if you like books you could go to Powell’s Books. It’s in Portland and it’s an awesome bookstore!! Plus, books and tea always go well together. :O

Unfortunately, being mildly autistic, I have pretty severe sensory processing disorder, so it’s nearly impossible for me to find a way to actually be able to read a book. :-( I can read short articles and audiobooks are fine, but any sound or smell or things like that get mixed up in my head while I read and actually make it into the book. I can’t tune anything out.

Luckily for me, other issues I have such as preoccupation of a specific topic and savant skills have come in handy with tea ;-)

Oh goodness, sorry to bring that up! D: That sucks. I am sorry!
Well hope you enjoy being in Orgeon all the same!

Oh no, it’s totally cool! I don’t really have a desire to read anyway :D

The woodlands are my books! :D hehe

Best of luck on the move! I’ve lived in Oregon and loved it! Hope to retire there someday. I have family in Vancouver, WA though. :)

Thanks! I appreciate everyone’s good vibes. I’m sure it’ll go smoother than Golden Orchid ;-)

Good luck on your move. Please stay near Portland long enough for me to visit. I still need to try the Rivendell.

I’ll be there for a while! :-) I wish I could give an ETA on Rivendell :-(

Did you say there were ideas for a Lothlorien tea?

Not at the moment. Mirkwood is next though :-)

Remind me, what is the base for that?

I love Oregon! I lived in Oregon City for several years, and I really enjoyed it. Good luck with your move!

Thanks Veronica! I’ve never actually been there but I’m sure I’ll love it!

Oregon, wow. I love the North Pacific. I hope your move goes smoothly and wish you the best out there!

So I am curious about this change in North Winds. When it came back in stock I wanted to order a ton of it as it has becomes one of my favorite teas, but it sounds like you have changed it? It is a different tea now? I can’t seem to find the sample page again. Are you offering samples of the new North Winds in your sample package?

Hey! :-)

Thanks for the good wishes!

Yes, NW has changed. I put a LOT of work into this new version, and it’s now my favorite blended black tea. For comparison, I could barely stand to drink the old one (sorry NW lovers, but it was not my cup of tea, haha) and as my house black, I needed a tea I was proud of. Unfortunately I stopped offering samples because of how much money I was losing on them, but the new NW has my absolute highest recommendation. The flavor profile is the same, but it’s cleaner, more nuanced, and made with a much higher quality dian hong. I could offer you a 1/4oz sample of NW if you’d like to try the new one before buying it.

From your description it sounds wonderful. Oh gosh, I am sorry. I didn’t realize the samples package no longer existed. It makes sense though. 1 oz is a small enough size to try new teas. Thank you for the offer for a sample. I think I will go ahead and just give this new version a try.

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! :-)

Thanks! I’m sure it will be inspirational, to say the least :)
