6 Tasting Notes
Luckily, I was not the one to purchase this tea, I just tried some from my brother. It’s really gross! It tastes like cherry-flavored red food dye. Just a very strong chemical taste. I tried blending it with a few other fruit flavors to maybe get something better, but all I could taste was the too-strong cherry.
This tea was on clearance at Teavana and the only way I could buy it was half a pound already in a tin. I was really nervous about buying that much of it as I normally drink flavored teas. But all my family loves tea, so I was planning on sharing.
This tea is AMAZING!!
It’s very mellow for a black tea, and very smooth. It doesn’t kick you in the face like some black teas. It has a light, nutty flavor and if you inhale through your mouth after taking a sip, you taste the natural sweetness. I shared about a quarter of the tin with my family, but the rest is ALL MINE!!
Preparation
I had high hopes for this tea. I had tried other mates before, and I like raspberry, so I figured I would like this. It smells good dry, you can see raspberries and you can smell the lemongrass part for sure.
I brewed it, and my first thought was that it burned the back of my throat, my second thought was that it was way too lemony. I gave it a fair go, I brewed it a few times, but I had to give up, I just don’t like it. Not enough raspberry, too much lemon
Preparation
I actually enjoy this one. I must be the odd duck out! lol For me it really depends on what day it is. I’m not huge on mate or rooibos.
This tea was my introduction to oolong. At first smell, it’s fruity, but with the “earthy” oolong smell (kinda smells like dirt). When I got it home and brewed it, I wasn’t immediately impressed, it’s ok, but not amazing. I infused the same batch again and much more of the fruit flavor was brought out. I’m not too big on the fruity teas, but this is one of my favorites.
I agree on this one too!!! I am also very thankful I got it as a gift! : )
If this is anything like the Sakura Allure then I’m glad that I have avoided it. Cherry flavoring is just not something I can trust people to use sparingly anymore.
