Backlog from this morning: Ah, yes, my smooth, malty frield :) Such a relief after that puckery Awake. This one never disappoints. Love the citrus scent, the very light taste of the bergamot, and the smooth, malty goodness that is this tea. Full mouth feel, no bitter, no astringency. What’s not to love about this tea???

Hmmm… More astringency and less malty flavor this morning. Maybe my taste is off- my new inhaler makes things taste funny, and the antibiotics I’m on make me have zero appetite, so that may be it. In any case, it’s hot, so that’s a huge plus this morning. I’m getting that dry-mouth feel from the astringency, which is usually okay, but it’s very strong astringency this morning. The malt I love so much is nearly absent. I steeped longer than usual, so that is probably the issue. Leaving the rating as is for the time being.

Yep, I’m definitely getting sick. So what do I choose? This tea, of course. Lemon for the cough, and ginger for the chills. Worked wonders, and tasted pretty good in the process. The ginger gets a bit strong halfway through the cup, but overall it’s a good cup.

This was actually pretty good! I wasn’t expecting much per some of the reviews here, but I liked it! The chamomile really helped settle me down, and I look forward to having this again. The mint was nicely done, too :)

Had this for afternoon tea. I think I overbrewed it a bit, but it was still drinkable. That’s what is great about this tea- it takes abuse and still tastes pretty much the same way you remember. Yummy!

One of my favorites – even if it is bagged! :)

Thanks to kittylovestea for this lovely chai sample! First of all, LOVE the bags! Not your typical papery type, more mesh-y. They are very nice. And they’re clear, so you can see the ingredients quite nicely. Second, this tea smells so nice in the bag! I brewed this one a little on the strong side, then added milk and sugar for a more traditional chai, and I really enjoy it! It’s spicy, lots of ginger, but not so much that it’s overwhelming. It’s very nicely blended.

Loving this spice! As with all my breakfast teas, I added a splash of milk and a little sugar. I was expecting a very harsh ginger, but this one is really nice! It’s not overpowering, it’s not musty, it’s even fresh tasting and a bit spicy! Yum! I agree with another rating- the ginger is sparkling. Can’t taste the black tea quite as much as I’d like, but that’s ok. For Stash, this is really good!

Bio

I’m at-home mother of 4, married 10 years. Tea, like knitting, is therapy for me. It’s a short reprieve from things that frustrate me. And it’s much cheaper than actual therapy. I was raised by my grandparents, both of whom enjoyed a good cup of tea, and they were already set in their ways by the time I came along. They had their tea all picked out, and we drank the same thing pretty much all the time. I just recently started branching out after discovering some new teas in a Round Robin I participated in on Ravelry(my other safe haven where my knitting progress lives), and I’ve been experimenting ever since. I recently tried my first loose leaf, Twinings Irish Breakfast, and I’ve also been getting some samples from Chado Teas. Every time I get a box or packet in the mail it’s like Christmas!

Aside from tea, my life consists of normal mommy-type stuff, of course, and I have 2 girls ages 7 and 9, and two boys ages 3 and 5. But I also enjoy photography, knitting, reading, writing, making collages, and tending to the farm. Did I mention I have 2 horses, goats, chickens, a pig, ducks, working dogs, and a couple of cats? We LOVE animals around here. I also love Dr. Who, many British comedies such as Are You Being Served?, and sarcasm. I suffer from depression and anxiety, hence the need for things to keep my hands busy and my mind on task, and I also have a sensory disorder, which includes a strong aversion to jeans and jean-like materials.

My favorite teas so far:

-Heredia Lemon Verbena
-Chai anything(except Stash, which is, for some reason, quite bland to me)
-Twinings Irish Breakfast
-Twinings Pure Mint
-Numi Aged Earl Grey
-Twinings New Zealand Breakfast
-Twinings Lady Grey

I will add more as I come across them, and some of these will probably fall off the list in favor of others I may prefer.
