Backlog from yesterday. I’m not giving this one a rating until I tweak my steeping method.
I could see how this tea gets the name “buttered rum” as it is evident an attempt was made to make the tea taste like that. The main flavor present, however, is coconut.
There’s nothing wrong with that as I love coconut, but this isn’t so much a buttered rum as a hot coconut milk with buttered rum aspects.
All this being said, I do plan to experiment with this tea. Both in the form of steeping and additives.

My normal steeping parameters for DAVIDs black teas are 1.5-2 tsp for about 5 minutes at 210. It won’t get astringent or bitter and you’ll get a fuller flavor.
