I have attended a lovely bridal shower and have stopped in for afternoon tea several times and have always enjoyed my visits to the Ruby Pear.

A wide variety of teas are offered and are excellently prepared, as are the delicious goodies — from fat rascal cookies and scones to delightful tea sandwiches.

This is an adorable location for a bridal or baby shower, and the tea gifts and girlie-boutique items are abundant.

I would suggest reservations if possible, to avoid potential disappointment on a busy day.

I stopped in here for lunch by myself the other day. Everything was delightful. I had Harney & Sons Paris tea, and DELICIOUS chicken velvet soup, a chicken salad tea sandwich, served with my choice of freshly-baked scone (I chose the lemon scone, which came with a special lemon frosting, as well as the jam and lemon curd that typically come with scones), choice of Fat Rascal cookie, and a chocolate-dipped strawberry. The service was great (the proprietress brought me several tea magazines to peruse since I was lunching alone), the tea was perfect (and they brewed me a second pot, gratis, when I drank the first pot so fast!), and the food was scrumptious. There was a lovely gift & antiques shop as well. I will definitely be back!
