Awesome little tea house in downtown Asheville! Wide selection of high quality teas. Laid back atmosphere with a room in the back where you can take your shoes off and relax. Chinese teas are served in a gaiwan with a big cup and a hot water jug heated by a candle. I had a nice session with a Thai Honey Oolong.

I visited some friends in Asheville, and there were two places they were intent on bringing me—Malaprop’s bookstore (a delight!), and here.

This place is such a joy. There’s a room in the back that’s more authentic, where shoes are not permitted and you sit on cushions before a low table. That room was sadly (predictably) completely full on a Saturday night, but the dimly lit, corner booth we found was a nice alternative.

The menu is chocked full of wonderful things, and we sat there and watched our tea being prepared. My Rwanda rooibos (delicious) came with spare hot water to make more, and our server told me exactly how long to steep for optimal flavor. My friend had the matcha (which we watched being properly prepared, whisk and all) and our table was full of tea treats (I love some tea cookies). They don’t hover or pressure you to get out of there when you’re done. You can kick off your shoes (literally) and savor your tea as long as you want, or until you feel guilty for taking up a table when other people are waiting.

Next time I visit Asheville, I’ll go during the day so I can grab one of those special tables in the back. And probably go home with even more tea, as they sell everything they offer on the menu, too, to take home.

Looking for some quick and refreshing boba, but really surprised at the selection Dobra had! Their menu is intensive and is one of the few places in the States that serves puerh tea (with a rotating Sheng!). Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I definitely recommend it for every tea lover.

My fiancé and I just wondered in here during our trip to Asheville a few years ago and were instantly charmed. They have such a wonderful tea selection and the atmosphere was so laid back and comfortable. We loved reading about their teas in the index and picked up a few on our way out. Both of use remember this place fondly as one of our favorite places in Asheville.

I spent a memorable afternoon here in excellent company; the Chai Chai Chai is wonderful served with local milk and honey, as is the one called Sweet Smell of Jerusalem. My only regret is that I visited so close to the end of my stay in the Black Mountain/Asheville area! The low tables and floor-cushions remind me of my favorite Moroccan restaurant at Covent Garden in London.

Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and a huge selection (~80 pg menu organized by country with snacks and an index at the back, looks like a small novel!!) High quality tea with excellent presentation. Many vegan and gluten-free snack and pastry options. Overall, a wonderful place.
