Wow! I thought this was going to be scary, but it was quite good. Like the Sesame tea, this came from Adagio’s Savory Sampler, which I received in the mail yesterday. I actually drank this last night. I was very apprehensive, but when I smelled the tea I began to feel less so. The tea actually smells kind of sweet (my husband said fruity, but i don’t know about that) but still like artichokes. In my mind, artichoke flavor = tangy / salty. That is not what this tea tastes like at all. This is more “essence of artichoke”. Now, I did not use enough leaf when I brewed this last night, so I will have to re-try with a more correct proportion. But the flavor itself is very smooth, savory, soothing. Definitely worth trying. I will have to try a few more times before I can adequately rate it, but it surely falls into the “thumbs up” category.

Nooo! I so wanted to be the first one to post about this, but my tea isn’t here yet :-p I’m glad to hear that it’s a good tea…my personal reaction when I read about it was “Man, that’s gonna be some funky-tastin’ TEA!”
I’m relieved to hear that too, especially since out of the sampler set this was the tea I was the most afraid of.
I’m jealous that you’ve got your order already though, I ordered on the first day and I still have maybe a week or more left to wait. Damn you Canadian Customs! XD
I ordered mine on the 11th so it’ll be here anytime between today and next Fri. I’m betting on closer to Fri though since WI is pretty far from NJ.:( I have an 8oz tin of cucumber already so I just orded the other 3 and gave the full sampler to a friend for Christmas along w/ the things that made up the $19 purchase.
I have my order all set up, but I’m being so finicky about the other teas I want. Hopefully I’ll get these by the end of the week.
Savory sample? Sounds delicious! I’ll have to check this out. I LOVE the taste of artichokes, so I’m really curious as to how this tea tastes!
I don’t know why everyone’s stuff takes forever to arrive. Whenever I order from adagio, I get it 2 days later.
