Sip Down & Backlog
Date: 17 February 2026

About a year ago, CLT had mystery grab bag samples for $5 and $10 (or $20?) USD ranging from mid to premium quality tea. This was one of the more expensive samples that Glen sent, and it took me a long time to justify drinking it down because there was very little tea in the bag. I had decided to have a session on Friday, and this tea was one of the most pleasing sessions in a long while; however, it was more aromatic than flavorful. There was a lot of floral and peachy notes off the dry and wet material, and the flavor transitioned quite nicely on the palate within the first two infusions…And then nothing much after those first two steeps. The texture on the other hand, was soupy and thick, and remained throughout the entirety of the session (11 infusions). That’s not the best part of the tea though – this tea was packed full of qi – I was buzzing after the session, and I didn’t get to bed until 01:00ish, which is well past my bedtime. Lol.
