From Dew Matcha

Origin: Yame, Japan

Harvest: Spring 2025 – First Flush

Grade: AAAA Ceremonial

Tasting Notes: Rich, Umami, Smooth

Size: 50g

Our rich is a luxurious first-flush matcha crafted from the Okumidori cultivar, grown in the prestigious tea fields of Yame, Fukuoka. It boasts a bright, vivid green color and an exceptionally smooth, velvety texture that glides across the palate.

The flavour is remarkably rich and naturally sweet, with minimal bitterness making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate a mellow yet impactful cup. Its deep umami undertones are beautifully balanced by its soft sweetness, offering a refined, toasty finish that lingers with elegance.

Each 50g pouch is vacuum sealed to remove oxygen to maintain optimal freshness until you’re ready to enjoy! Keep in an air tight and opaque container and refrigerate after opening.

Please Note: While we initially started as a partnership with Cultivate Tea, we have been directly sourcing our own matcha from Japan in since early 2025, thank you for your continued support!*

A coworker was given this matcha as a present, but then really disliked it quite a lot. We’ve been working towards finding out what her matcha preferences are because she does enjoy matcha a lot, but seems to be pretty picky. I’ve noticed the pattern, however, that all her top matchas are coming out of Shizuoka. So, I think it’s a terroir preference!

In the case of this matcha, it comes out of Yame. If you’ve been paying attention to my matcha preferences at all (and totally fair if not), that’s actually my favourite region by quite a lot. So, she brought this for me to enjoy. I made it as an iced oat milk latte, and I enjoyed it pretty heavily. Very boldly flavoured in a way where I feel I can kinda tell it might be a touch intense on its own. But as a latte? Those stronger nutty notes and savory undertones of tahini and miso paste really shine. It’s very creamy and, as the name implies, rich!
