Sipdown (1912)!

I feel like this is definitely on me for assuming and not checking before brewing this one up, but I really thought this was going to be a straight oolong. Something like a Four Seasons Oolong. Instead, I was surprised by the fact this is flavoured. Once I got over the initial shock I found myself enjoying this quite a bit. It’s simply flavoured; seems like just an addition of juicy sweet peach flavour. It works well with the greener oolong base which adds a layer of floral flavour and creates these lovely peaks and valleys of dimension to this mono-flavoured blend. Soothing while also being, like, lush.

I wouldn’t buy it again because it’s a little simple and not especially unique, but if you wanted a reliable and just nicely executed peach tea this would be a pretty solid option.

This tea was nice. I really enjoyed the aroma of peach. I was surprised to find the peach flavor was really light however. It also had a grassy taste to it, but I did not mind. It left a citrusy aftertaste after I took each sip.

My mom brought home this tea the other day for the two of us to enjoy together. I steeped it today and in a big white teapot and used my favorite cups (the ones I will be using for the tea ceremony) for serving it. The tea has lovely aromatics of peach and earth. We enjoyed this tea together in our living room, sitting by the fireplace and looking out the window at the falling rain. The first sip did not have the traditional full-bodied, borderline floral flavor, but more of a dark tea with an essence of peach. As I continued to drink, the oolong flavor built and left a nice aftertaste. Overall, it was really lovely with a slight tang. We enjoyed it and the togetherness it brought us.

I was kind of neutral about this. It was not unpleasant, but it did remind me a bit of earl grey tea (which I am not typically fond of).
I did like it a little bit more once I added some cream.
The peachy scent set me up with high expectations that the bergamont/orange sort of flavour did not deliver.

Lovely aroma of peach! I do get a peach flavor as well, although it isn’t as strong as the scent would promise. This is a nice, smooth tea and I really enjoy it.

Tea of the evening. I again had high hopes for this one…the dry leaf smelled full of peach goodness. I love peaches. Even as it steeped all I could smell was peaches. However, after drinking it the only peach flavor I got was in a weird aftertaste. Sigh…maybe a little longer on the steep next time?
