From white2tea

This Blue Mark [Lanyin in Chinese] tea was produced during the early to mid 1990’s and stored in South China natural storage. The leaves are full and robust, brewing up a sweet and smooth soup. The material is likely from Mengku area, as is indicated by our research and also the character of the tea itself.

357 gram cake. Exact date unclear, though it is likely early to mid 1990’s. Raw puer from South China natural storage. Made by Zhongcha / CNNP from what we believe to be Mengku area material. Wrappers are often bug bitten and the tea may have some dust on the surface as pictured, however the Blue Mark tea itself brews extremely clean and clear.

Simply stupendous. It starts good, and gets better. Been drinking it all day, and I need to stop but I don’t know how to quit this tea.

Not too shocking it’s gone. My wallet was sighing relief all day.

Oh Lordy I loved this tea, horded my sample from Grill. Thank goodness it’s sold out.

Glad I got to try this one before it sold out. I tried to steep it all in one night and it nearly killed me. Softly.

Enjoyed sipping this tea over the past three days and it seemed to become better with each infusion. The dry dark leaves were loosely pressed – a gentle nudge of the tea needle separated the fully intact leaves. They yielded a chestnut colored tea soup that is thick, sweet and lubricating. Camphor is noticeable in both aroma and taste. Smooth silky texture. Sweet broth is soft and gentle with a slight herbal taste but there is definitely a distinct nut-meat essence. Later cups were pure smooth sweetness. Definitely not a flimsy tea with its wonderful viscosity. Qi was not as apparent as I would have preferred but from what I could feel it was quite comfortable and relaxing. Overall, a very fine tea with durability and strength – several lovely sessions with an honest, straightforward tea.

I recently sampled this, gotta say that the quality is undeniable. Soup is thick, dark, sweet, reminiscent of decayed wood, mushrooms, and wild honey, and has a distinct mahogany finish.

Grrrr….accidentally hit the X while I was trying to switch tabs.

So my re-write.

Thank you so much, TwoDog2, for the sample of this tea with my order. I have never had such an expensive tea before. And yes, it’s worth every penny.

Started out very bold and strong, deep, clear, and incredibly smooth. Staying smooth and strong, it slowly sweetened up over infusion to infusion. And it’s still going strong. Amazingly smooth, delicious. I’ve got to stop for today, but I’m saving the rest for tomorrow.
