Some 10+ years aged sheng recommendations?

something really fruity or have that aged flavour thats a bit like raisins, red wine or brandy & doesnt cost a lot? 10 years seems to be a good age for my tastebuds.

i’m drinking too much of my 2006 xiaguan 8673, it took a while to clear some kind of storage taste but now its really nice.

I’m a total newbie when it comes to aged sheng, but I hear good things about the White2Tea Repave. Aged in loose from, which is interesting

Ah no thanks, repave is not that kind of aged wine/brandy/raisin flavour to me.. It’s more on the camphor/apricot side compared to something like the 8673

I suggest 2005/2015 Bulang from Chawangshop. This is 11 year old tea just compressed into a cake last year. Expect to air it a little, has slight wet storage, but the good part is enough of the aging is done and you can finish it at home. I broke mine up to store. $32.

what do you think of the flavour? there is a review here that mentions mugwort, ive got no idea what that tastes like and the score wasnt favourable. I know one mans something is anothers something else, but just was interested in your view

It tastes about what I’d expect for $32. A drinker and nothing more.

2002 White Whale from white2tea has that red wine / brandy type of flavor in it. I really liked a 2003 CNNP High Mountain Yi Wu I got recently from yunnan sourcing as well, it’s smoky with some sweet fruity notes. Both are near $100 for 357g though so I’m not sure what your idea of cheap is, but for a sheng that age that price is pretty typical for a quality product.

HK Style 90’s from W2T is a fantastic value. It’s one of my top go-to aged teas.

seems like i have another W2T order coming up

Your response to the Repave suggests you don’t care for camphor. I thought both the HK and the white whale were very heavy on the camphor.

Really? I agree with White Whale being a little potent, but the HK was pretty smooth and fruity to me.
