I love visiting Teance. The staff members who I have interacted with have always been very knowledgeable and they seem to have a true passion for tea. I love doing tastings at the tea bar. Much attention is paid to how the tea is brewed and served, which I appreciate. Their locally made mochi confections are delicious, and would be reason enough to make a trip.

This is a nice spot to have a good cup of tea. It is located at the Oxbow Public Market, so the environment is usually very busy and loud- not recommended if you’re looking for a quiet retreat. My only real complaint about this place is that their employees don’t seem to be well trained. I was told by the young man working there that the milk oolong got its flavor from being rinsed with milk. Besides this, they really do have some great stuff.

Tea means so many things to me, it is so deep and it is revealing new meaning to me all the time.

Tea is a mindfulness practice, and a doorway through which to explore different philosophies, cultures, and historical times. Tea is hospitality and a way of communion. Tea is an art, a ritual, and a tradition. Tea is a complement to the foods I eat (preferably vegan desserts) and is something I enjoy collecting and curating.

I love to swap, or even just send people samples, so if there’s anything in my cupboard you’d like to try, just send me a message!
