Wow, this is a really unique chai! You can see I’m going a little nuts trying all my new teas. Will have to stop soon, or the caffeine is going to make me nuts! Haha! This is really good. The spices in here are wonderful. They blend together well. I think the uniqueness has to do with either the cardamom, black pepper, or may I say nutmeg? The latter isn’t on the ingredients list, but it might be in there. It sounded like another reviewer found that spice as well. This is also a sweet custard-like tea, although it’s not particularly thick in mouthfeel. I think it would be great using the stovetop method…next time! Mmmm. :)
Okay, my usual steeping parameters for 52teas (3 min at 185 degrees) works for Herbal Infusions as well! Yay! I didn’t get any bitterness and the flavor shone through. This tea smells like cookies, for sure. It tastes lie maple-flavored cookies. I’ve never had a maple-flavored cookie…do they have those in Canada? It probably has something to do with the little maple leaf-shaped sprinkles in the tea. I liked this tea. Can’t say it’s what I expected, but definitely yummy.
I finally got my Herbal Infusions order! So much new tea to drink! I have to say, Dan was really communicative throughout, which totally made me feel better about the delay.
Anyway, this tea smelled so good. Like vanilla pudding and graham crackers. I decided to try this one first thing this morning. Steeped, it smelled delicious, but I think I oversteeped it, because the flavor was overpowered by the black tea base. I got some vanilla and some graham cracker, but really, the black tea was a bit bitter. I did a 4-minute steep, so I think next time, I’ll have to try it at 3 minutes. This one might also benefit from a lower temperature. Will have to try that out. One thing I think would help is if they added steeping parameters to the bags. Overall though, I think this tea could be great, but I need to find the optimum parameters to bring out the goodness!
I emailed and called Herbal Infusions a couple of times and haven’t heard back. In fact, I was emailing to let them know (1) they left something out of my order and (2) they sent me duplicates of teas and I wanted to know if I should send them back. I never heard back :(
Also, vanilla pudding and graham crackers sounds awesome so I am sorry the taste didn’t come through.
Wow, that’s odd they haven’t responded. Did you use this email? [email protected]
Had a cup of this with some pumpkin fudge….oh yeah! I was so enjoying the fudge, I totally forgot I didn’t finish my cup, so I drank the last 2/3 of it lukewarm. Oh well, still good. This doesn’t really taste like eggnog to me, but it’s definitely a creamy spice tea. I’ve really been into the flavored rooibos teas lately. I think when the weather is cold, I’m more apt to go for something in the evening, and these hit the spot!
The Tea Spot will send you a free sample of tea if you sign up with them, so I did it. I was curious about the company, and they’ve been having a bunch of sales, so I thought I’d check them out. What better way than for free! I got this in the mail today, which was kind of a consolation prize for still not receiving my HI orders. And I couldn’t stop myself from opening it right up and trying it! It was definitely bold, and I tasted all three ingredients: black tea, puerh, and chocolate. I’ve not developed a taste for puerh, however, so it threw off the rest of it for me. It is more subtle, since the black tea and chocolate shine through, but alas, I’m not a fan of the woody, leathery puerh. I do think the tea is good quality though, so I will probably try some more of their teas in the future.
Taking a little break from my seasonal teas to have a nice big mug of this fabulous tea. Still a favorite! I mean, who doesn’t like a warm creamy, slightly spiced mug of goodness? It’s also helping me wait for my teas from Herbal Infusions. It’s kind of driving me crazy that I still don’t have my orders from BF/CM. Good thing they weren’t gifts! Dan has been pretty good at communicating, but I think it’s now the fault of the good ol’ USPS. Hope I get them today! That would be a nice first Christmas present, wink wink USPS!
Made a sipdown of this happen by combining the little that was left with Tealux chocolate delight. Pretty good, actually. More chocolatey, which is never a bad thing! I wanted to pick up more of this tea on BF, but they didn’t have any available on the website at that time. It seems to be back, so eventually I’ll probably pick some more up. Peanut butter teas aren’t all that common, and I do love peanut butter! Right now, though, I’m still waiting on two orders from Herbal Infusions, so whenever they show up, I’ll have way more tea than necessary! ;)
