First tea of the day! Thank you Jenny Wren for including this in the tea swap! I read the reviews on this one, seems others have found it overly sour; I actually didn’t think so. I found it definitely a little tart, but still very drinkable. Would you really expect a raspberry/hibiscus tea to not be somewhat tart/sour? Is it a tea to write home about? No. But is it an easy little vitamin C wake up call? Sure. When it cools, the darjeeling is certainly more present.

Cofftea

UGH! Now I want the chocolate raspberry torte my neighbor made and just brought over even more LOL=D

amandajo

wow…Now I’m hungry. :P…Think I will start making breakfast. My husband is requesting pancakes or a dutch baby (oven pancake thing).

Cofftea

Pumpkin chocolate chip w/ Tipu’s instant chai are amazing:)

OK Strawberry Z, I think you may have won me over a bit more. At 2 minutes and 30 seconds, this tea is much less astringent, and much more refreshing. The strawberries still are not quite as strong as I would like them, but it is much more drinkable (for me) this way. I’ll boost you up a few points. :)

Hmm…This is a thought provoking tea. This is my first time trying puerh. I am pleasantly surprised, specifically after the slightly fishy aroma. (Granted, I do like fish.) But I don’t really think it tastes like fish. It’s rather calming and smoky, and has rustic feel. I’m considering my horizons a little broadened. ;)

Thank you Jenny Wren for including this in the swap!

Glad I can be a part of horizon broadening!

This is a good tea…is it as great as I wish it was? Not quite. I think my expectations were simply too high. Had I never tried Strawberry pie honeybush I might love it. Don’t get me wrong, I do like it, but its just not love. I’ve tried brewing it a few different ways now, just under boiling, at boiling, for 4 minutes, then for 3 minutes. But it still keeps coming out just short of wondrous. It’s a little too astringent for my taste, and it is overshadowing the strawberries and cream. I am sorry Strawberry Z, I guess it just was not meant to be. We can still be friends. ;)

Meghann M

Oooh…this makes me want the Strawberry Pie honeybush even more! Also, I had to steep the Zabaglione around 2-2:30 for it to lower the astringency. It still got a ton of strawberry ripeness to it at that time.

Followed your suggestion Miss Meghann, thank you!

More delectable honeybush from Frank… will our pocketbooks ever be safe again? These teas have become my sanctuary. And this tea in particular is incredible. I tried it as an iced latte. I’m ashamed to say I downed a whole stein in about 2 minutes; I wanted to savor it but could not help myself. Juicy baked goods in liquid form, how could I resist? There is so much strawberry here! And there is a definitive pastry flavor too! The best part about the fact that its honeybush? Aftertaste is non-existent: no astringency, just deliciousness. Do I need to gush anymore or do you get the picture already? I am so glad this is a permanent blend.

Jaime

Have I mentioned that I’m jealous that you get to actually go and have the teas there in person? I’m also very excited that this is permanent…it eases the “must go buy this now” urge!

amandajo

lol, True enough, but seriously, this is one you will want to try…it is that good.

Southern Boy Teas

I witnessed the downing of the stein. Or, at least, I think I did. One minute she had a full 24oz glass stein full of creamy iced tea latte… I blinked… and it was empty. I’m pretty sure she set a new record. I’ve had some guys come in and chug some tea before, particularly on really hot days with iced tea, but Amanda is so tiny… I was half worried that she poured it out somewhere to save having to tell me she hated it.

Kristen

Can’t wait to get my order and try this one!!! :)

Jaime

I’m going to wait a week or two…because I know that come Monday, there’ll be another tea that I want to get.

This was quite lovely. Delicate, fresh, peachy, clean, sweet, juicy, and just the right amount of oolong to remind you that it is indeed tea you are drinking and not juice. Even my husband (“Mr. I don’t like tea”) looked in the tea pot curiously and asked if there was any left. He had a small cup with our dinner and said that it was “nice”. Definite point boost for this tea! :)

Thank you Jenny Wren for sending this one to me in the pay it forward tea swap!

jenny wren

I’m glad you liked it!

I just needed something easy and mild this morning to go with a chocolate chip cookie. This did the trick. There is really nothing of merit to say about this tea, but if all you’re looking for is something that will not overpower or distract whatever it is that you are having with it yet is still relatively pleasant, this is not a bad option. It served its purpose today.

My husband choked down a cup of this the other night. No, he still does not really like tea… yes, he is still a work in progress. ;) You do not want to know what he said this tea tasted like, it was not pleasant, lol. But he did say that it seemed to help him sleep, which is awesome, considering that he does not like taking pills for such things.

Warm, comforting, cinnamony, almond deliciousness. This is hard to beat. I was having a crappy morning, this tea is making it better. It tastes like a drinkable cookie. I seem to remember a commercial recently that used the phrase “tea can do that”. Turn a day around? Yes, this tea can do that. :) (Of course I could probably say that now about quite a few teas, thanks to this little site!)

Thank you Meghann M for the sample!

Got busy with calls from work (gotta love being on-call on the weekend) and forgot that I had begun steeping this tea! After a good 25-30 minutes I thought I may have to throw it out, decided to add a good amount of milk and reheat. I also added a little sugar. It’s actually quite tasty! Tastes like creamy warm vanilla cherry coke, lol. Will wait to rate it when I steep it a bit more conventionally. ;)

Oh, by the way, Thank you Miss Meghann M for sending this my way!!

Kristen

This tea intrigues me! Sounds yummy
