I have been having other teas, I just have to drink another round of the flavored milk oolong before I can attempt to describe its wonderfulness.
I had this hot with milk at breakfast with two slices of toast and a fried egg. I had attempted to make a poached egg, but the egg stuck to the bottom to the pot and I think I had undercooked it. (I only successfully poached an egg once before.) I need to re-read my directions before I try poaching an egg again.
Apparently I have a small sinus infection. It sucks and I don’t really feel like doing much, but my doctor says I have to drink plenty of fluids. This counts. I’ll have a cup of tea in between my water intake so that I don’t get too tired of it.
Hot with a little bit of milk with my bacon and eggs this morning.
This has become the tea that I drink. It has been all I have been drinking for a while. I have a feeling that this will end shortly and I’ll be drinking different teas again soon.
I decided to try something different and put a little hot cocoa powder in my tea today to see if I would like chocolate earl grey. I would. The chocolate and bergamot dance together in such a pleasing way. I might try to find a chocolate earl grey blend to try now.
@KS I used a family recipe. Basically it is a Nesquick chocolate milk powder, powdered coffee creamer, and powdered milk blend.
Apparently this has moved into my morning tea slot because I don’t have to think about it to make it. Just steep it five minutes in boiling water and add milk. I have been trying to get up earlier and this is the only thing that helps me stay up right now.
This is my favorite earl grey to have with milk so far. The bergamot just pops and is so juicy. Really stands out with the milk. I haven’t had my morning earl grey in a while either.
I accidentally set the smoke detector off while frying bacon this morning. Apparently I need to use a lower heat once the pan is hot. Oops.
Preparation
This is actually a fairly decent Earl Grey. Not the best I ever had, but I find it better than Tazo Earl Grey. The bergamot is a juicy flavor and not soapy at all. (which is what I was afraid of.) The tea itself isn’t that harsh. It is actually fairly pleasant. I am curious about a splash of milk in this one even though it doesn’t really need it.
With milk the bergamot is even juicier and it is a little bit brighter. I can actually see this being a very good starter Earl Grey. It would also make good Earl Grey Lattes. I think I might have to keep this around to make my Earl Grey lemonade with. It is pretty good.
-Standard teabag.
-Teabag smells of very sweet vanilla. Tea liquor smells of malty vanilla.
-Tea liquor is a medium amber color.
-Artificial and bitter flavor with a slight vanilla finish.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Poor tea. Very bitter. Milk and sweetener diminish the bitterness, but does little to bring out the vanilla flavor.
Preparation
Ah Constant Comment, like many people here I grew up with it as well. But sadly it is not a fond memory. I really can’t stand orange flavoring so I admit I’m very biased. It smells like old clove that’s been sitting with Christmas tree ornaments all summer and it doesn’t taste much better. It does taste very winter time and is the closest I’ve gotten to mulled tea but I think I’ll try one day to make my own then to return to this. Another trip down memory lane but I’ll skip it for now.
I got this in a fantastic care package from a friend of mine today. I was feeling especially lazy when I got home from work – short-staffed tonight, and lots of work to do. (Although I did really well today – picked up others’ work and sold more than the storewide quota for passes just on my shift alone! Not bad, with reviews coming up…) And then I came home and found a huge box for me on the table!
As much as I wanted to like this tea, I really didn’t. The directions on the packed said steep 1-2 minutes, so I followed those directions for the first cup I had. I could hardly taste it. The second cup, I added a bit of sugar and left the teabag in as I drank, and it still basically tasted like hot water with sugar. The smell is vaguely raspberry and I taste a very light black flavor, but it’s hardly there. Sad, because the dry bag smells great!
Preparation
blend. I was a bit skeptical; I am not a big fan of Stash’s Peppermint, and thought that I would just not like mint teas period.
Well, apparently, I just don’t like pure mint teas. This tea actually is not pure Spearmint – which is, by the way, just delicious – but accented by yummy, subtle black tea to make a tea that even cold doesn’t fall into the category of toothpaste backwash. As others have stated, this tea tastes best cold, which differentiates it from Stash’s mint tea.
Spearmint + black tea = delicious dessert tea that pairs perfectly with cheesecake or chocolate anything.
Preparation
-Standard teabag.
-Teabag smells strongly of very sweet raspberries. Tea liquor aroma is almost earthy with a small scent of raspberry.
-Tea liquor is a medium clear brown.
-Slight raspberry flavor with a bitter finish.
-Best with sweetener.
-Fair tea. Very bitter and little raspberry flavor. Sweetener takes away most of the bitterness.
Preparation
-Standard teabag.
-Teabag smells strongly of sugar. Tea liquor smells sugary with a hint of cinnamon.
-Tea liquor is a dark bronze color.
-Creamy eggnog flavor with a subtle cinnamon finish.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Very good tea. Creamy and flavorful. Perfect on a cold winter day.
Preparation
It’s free and it’s at work – need I say more?
I wanted to reach for something caffeine free. I actually DO love lemon but between that, and the rose hips and hibiscus it is fairly tart. I hardly ever add sugar to anything but this one definitely needed it. Also peppermint… why? I fear this is going to give me a big stomach ache. Can’t say that I will be wanting anymore of this and it will be a struggle to finish the cup.
Preparation
I can’t really taste the green tea since pomegranate flavor is quite strong. I do like it but it’s kinda like light juice than actual tea.
