I think it’s well written for those of you who might be new to matcha. There is so much to learn!

I received the Matcha TTB today! Looks yummy. Some nice looking Matchas. Unfortunately for me, only a few matcha I haven’t had before, but there are some I certainly won’t mind having again. :D There are some really nice looking green teas.

Looks like there will be a lot of matches in the next couple days.

I’ll update on the spreadsheet and make tasting notes on Red Leaf and Steepster.

I had to switch boxes before I sent it out. I put it all in one box and it didn’t fit so hopefully that one works out ok.

I have been enjoying the TTB :D Yummy!

I got a few samples of powdered whole leaf tea from Chi Whole Leaf Tea which i will also be adding to the box after and sample a bit and review them. Perfect timing to get these while I have the box. Again, these should be reviewed on their site, as well as Steepster.

Oh cool! I backed them on Kickstarter. So curious about their teas.

I was curious to what konbucha tea powder was so I bought it without reading… is anyone interested in Japanese seaweed powder for tea?
I am not a fan of it…

Konbucha is different than Kombucha, but very slightly. Konbu is like sheets of kelp/seaweed, and sometimes it’s made into a powdered ‘tea’ (hence the ‘cha’ at the end) and sipped on when someone is sick. It can also be used for soup stock. Try it with some ramen noodles or with rice!

How does kombucha tea powder work? Does it have the same properties of bacterial strains that the liquid version has?

It’s basically like powdered kelp. I don’t know if it has any strains of bacteria that you would find in the kombucha you can buy in bottles at the store. The kelp itself was originally fermented then ground into a powder. I don’t think they do that anymore, though.

It’s quite unique…

There are many ‘odd’ types of powdered tea here such as mushroom and kelp… but there is also really awesome ones like ground rooibos and over 9000 types of powdered green teas

Hmmm… I put a note on here Wednesday saying that I sent the box on to Nicole. Don’t know what happened to my post. But the box has lots of fun matchas. I had to put it in a bigger box since I added many samples from Red Leaf. :D

Received the box yesterday! Just didn’t have a chance to make a note until now. Can’t wait to dive in!

In Vancouver right now for a short 12 hr layover. Stopped by a Japanese store near the hotel and happened to see some matcha so i bought some. Tinypic isn’t letting me upload a pic so I’ll do it when i get home if anyone is interested in seeing it. Japanese stores are so dangerous for me…

I am sending more samples to Nichole. They were supposed to get to her by last week but… I’m an idiot and forgot to put the first two lines of the address on the box.
