drank Egyptian Licorice by Yogi Tea

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather and remembered this one was that I enjoyed in the past. It really has an enjoyable licorice flavor (which is great if you like licorice). It is both a sweet and spicy. It leaves a licorice-y taste which I really enjoy and it satisfies my sweet tooth.

Nice to see you around! I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well, though.

Oh yummilious!!! I added a tablespoon of Quest protein powder (Vanilla Milkshake flavor) to my MateVana because I was feeling like I hadn’t had enough protein this afternoon and I had a lot of stuff to get done. The results are superb! It has the richness of a creamy hot chocolate but also the tea flavor.

I used an immersion blender to make sure it was well blended and I am very pleased with the results.

I think this would work well on any of those teas where we often add milk. I’m so excited!!

By the way … on the continuing quest for weight control … I’ve lost 65lbs. and have kept it off for two years now. As everyone always says, keeping it off is just as hard as loosing it. I continue to drink about 9 cups of tea a day. It’s working for me.

Well done! Brava!

Help! I’m addicted!!

This is such a unique drink. It is called a tea but I’m not really sure there is much of a tea element to it. It is made by fermenting kombucha mushrooms.

The fermenting causes the tiniest bit of alcohol but is is not considered an alcoholic drink. Although this tea Iooks like a fruit juice, it’s taste is anything but fruity. You really have to try it. Just don’t expect sweet.

It is effervescent so don’t shake it or you’ll be really sorry. Whoosh all over the place! (I know this from experience since it happened in my car as I was going down the expressway!)

The reason you might want to shake it (mistakenly) is because you see the gross looking junk at the bottom of the bottle. (I assume that’s the fermented/probiotic stuff) You can g-e-n-t-l-y recap after opening and tip it over a couple times to mix it more thoroughly.

The biggest downfall to me is cost: about $3. a bottle. Supposedly there are 2 servings in a bottle but you know you are going to drink all of it. There are 30 calories per serving. It must be kept refrigerated because of the raw kombucha.

Some people say you can make your own but I’m not willing to do the work… buying the starter, fermenting, etc.

There is also ginger in it. It has great fresh probiotics in it and is good for the tummy. There are a lot of different flavors but I primarily stick to the ginger flavor.

Is it the taste you are addicted to or how it makes you feel?

Both! It has such a different taste, as well as making me feel better. :-)

Well I sort of liked it until I really looked at the ingredients: Ginseng and eleuthero root extracts, garciinia cambogia fruit extract, blend of green tea leaf, bilberry lea, hibiscus flower, green tea extract, stevia, amid fruit, belleric myrobalan and cherubic myrobalan fruit. AND … organic orange , blueberry and licorice flavor. Way too much stuff. I’m used to my “medicinal” teas being a bit less complicated. I guess I also expect that a tea called Blueberry Slim Life would actually have blueberry in it not just as a flavor listed second to the last out of 13 ingredients.

I wasn’t sure what Ginseng eluthero and garnica cambogia are so I looked them up and found that I can’t have ginseng eluthero because of a side effect with some medication I am taking. Bummer!

I’m not saying it’s a bad tea but I was just expecting a more green tea with blueberry. The taste isn’t bad at all. I have to admit that I wasn’t hungry and I did feel I had a bit more pep than I would expect. If it wasn’t for this sort of big drug interaction I would probably drink it.

Evol Ving Ness

According to my research in vitamins and supplements, bilberry is wild and more expensive blueberry, so yay!

Evol Ving Ness

Oh, and more potent too.

Interesting. Thanks! I feel a bit better about it being called a blueberry tea.

drank Beach Bellini by Teavana

I was innocently walking through the mall and suddenly a Teavana jumped out in front of me and forced me to try this lovely iced tea. I think many of us have mixed feeling about Teavana but occasionally they have something good. ;p

This tea is a pineapple fruit blend which actually has a pineapple flavor in it. Pineapple has been a somewhat elusive flavor for me to find in teas. Often pineapple is drowned out by other fruit flavors.

I made this as a cold brew . That is always a difficult decision with Teavana teas. They take a lot of tea leaf/fruit blend to make a good cold brew. I think I used almost an ounce in my Tekata iced tea pitcher. I did get a good well developed pitcher of tea and did a decent re-steep.

Flavors: Fruity, Pineapple

drank Blood Orange by Adagio Teas

I’ve made this as a hot tea and a cold brew. Definitely more of a cold brew but still nothing exciting.

There was something of a woody medicinal taste like you sometimes get in a rooibos but this didn’t mention rooibos in the ingredients so it may be just me.

I was looking for more of a regular orange-y flavor but this seems to have an excess of hibiscus which is not a favorite of mine.

Flavors: Blood orange, Hibiscus, Medicinal, Wood

I’ve had this before as a hot tea and I really enjoyed it. I made this as a cold brew today since I needed something for the evenings. (I tend to waaaay over do it on caffeine.)

I’m not sure about the probiotics aspect but this is a nice lemon-y tea. The ginger didn’t come through very strongly as a cold brew but there is a hint of it.

The problem with adding probiotics to tea is they can’t survive boiling water if you make it as hot tea.

carol who

I agree but I thought maybe cold brewed there might be some positive effect.

AllanK

There are said to be probiotics in ripe puerh too. The Chinese believe that these probiotics can survive boiling water. My gastroenterologist said something different.

I have been sooooooo good for about the last year and have actually drunk allllllll of my tea! I haven’t been posting since I was drinking the same teas over and over and over. (Which I have enjoyed a lot.) I haven’t bought any new teas in like a million years. I really had a lot of my favorites as well as a lot of sample sizes. I wanted to use them before they went stale. I have set aside time tomorrow to go tea shopping. Whoopie!

The pu erh hazelberry which I fixed as a cold brew is the last thing I have. I used some vanilla stevia drops as a sweetener. I re-steeped this tea and it kept the flavor. It was a lovely drink with lots of " hazelberry" (what is hazelberry? I figure just a combo of hazel and berry).

Flavors: Cocoa, Hazelnut, Strawberry

I haven’t had this tea in an awfully long time! I’ve been a good girl and not buying any teas till I’m down to 40. Well, I finally made it… just in time for Christmas. I bought 9 teas today to share with my daughters. I just couldn’t wait.

This tea is a little less amaretto flavored than I remember. It is still very tasty and it is
always nice to have a nice relaxing chocolate tea with no caffeine. Very enjoyable. Resteeps well.

Retired first grade teacher. I tend to like dessert type/herbal teas as a substitute for sweet treats; flavored black teas and mates to get that energy that I am often lacking ;-p
My husband of 43 years thinks I’m nuts regarding the whole tea thing… but he bought me a Breville for Christmas, so what can I say. :-D
My other interests are reading (books go well with tea :D) and beading. I volunteer at my “old” school teaching reading and I volunteer for the blind. I am trying hard to lose weight ( I have now lost 40 lbs and I’m looking good in my skinny jeans, IMHO) I am now walking about 4.5 miles a day and I am trying to do some core work for about 30 min. 3x a week.

I have been watching Doctor Who for 33years. In case you can’t tell my avatar is two daleks drinking tea! I am always open to swapping Doctor Who books for tea. I have about 120 Doctor Who books that I am eager to send some to a fan. :D Let me know if you would like any books! I love that so many people have begun watching DW!

Also I love swaps, pm me if you’d like to do a swap.

Since I find others’ rating legends helpful, I added my own.

70-79 Very good; would enjoy again, might buy again if in the mood for this particular one or a better, similar version not available or it’s on a really good sale :-)

50-69 Good; wouldn’t pass up if offered, but probably wouldn’t buy again unless craving this particular flavor

Below 50 Meh! Wouldn’t bother drinking it again.
