Travel thermos/tumbler that doesn't retain scents?

Looking for suggestions on a thermos/tumbler that doesn’t retain scents too harshly. My Thermos brand one has silicone gaskets (for leak prevention) and a plastic lid, but I believe they are the source of the Thermo’s persistent stink. Soaking in baking soda and vinegar etc only temporarily solves this problem and then the smell is back right after my next use. I want a thermos that I can simply give a quick hot scrub and have it smelling good as new every time. An integrated infuser is NOT necessary, but having decent heat retention IS necessary.

Any suggestions?

This is the one I own that has scent issues: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ETP7DAW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My Zojirushi thermos I bought from Amazon keeps my water hot (not just warm) overnight when I leave some in there from a nights session. I haven’t tested past 12 hours on it yet though, but it has done a great job in Tokyo for me. It’s large though and I bought it for that reason so I can brew multiple cups throughout the day with just the water. The lid acts as a small cup as well; I recently used it to have a gyokuro session under some cherry blossom teas which was nice because I only needed to carry one thing with me. http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-SJ-SHE10-Stainless-Sports-32-Ounce/dp/B004YB3J4K/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1429340357&sr=8-12&keywords=zojirushi

If you’re looking for a smaller Themos Nissan has a 12ounce model that keeps liquid hot for 18 hours (I’ve tested that on accident and on purpose)

I haven’t experienced any scents that are not able to be removed.

I haven’t used either one for cold liquids.

There’s going to be scent leftover as long as there’s plastic involved for sure, and every tumbler I’ve seen there’s something plastic in there, at least in gasket form. I think what you are looking for is a hard find.

By the way, are you removing the gasket for cleaning? Ideally you need to do this after each use as gnarly bacteria will lurk in there and cause smells.

Even my glass and steel tea thermoses insides develop residue over time that soap/hot water can’t clean and they need some Mandala Tea Soak to get brand new looking and smelling. Tea loves to stain and water will leave deposits!
