What product are you talking about? From what source? The Teavana Perfect Tea Maker?

no brand. just ez brew. but it looks like teavana’s :)

It is simply a variation on a teapot. I have the Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker and use it all the time for western style tea. It works quite well but is not necessarily better or worse than a teapot. It does give the tea leaves plenty of room to expand.

I have the IngenuiTEA from Adagio – no issues with it and I use it for all of my non-gongfu teas.

oooh. and what are your gongfu teas?

it sounds really cool. just a bit wary of the few critical reviews on amazon :P

I usually gongfu oolongs, blacks, and puerhs. Oolongs and blacks work fine in the gravity steeper though.

I think they are often called gravity steepers. I have had Teavana’s plastic version that has held up for years. I didn’t know they had a glass version! Are there any plastic parts on it?

It’s got a plastic lid and plastic base.
