Organic Coconut Oil - Pure Agave Nectar

I would like to know if any one here is using coconut oil or agave nectar? I know about all the benefits of using coconuts, they are very beneficial and tasty. :) I haven’t done any research on the benefits of the agave, I’ve heard its better than using regular bees honey. Also id like to know what tea is your favorite? Mine is the Earl Grey loose leaf from Teavana. It is delish :)

Agave is not honey. It comes from a plant.

Do you mean agave nectar or honey from bees that pollinate agave plants (which I am not sure actually happens)?

Agave nectar is awesome and is a low glycemic sweeter. Very sweet but not in a way that would negatively impact tea in my opinion.

Yeah I meant nectar. It looks like honey. I’m personally not a fan of using sugar. I like hearing what other humans are using to naturally sweeten tea but still able to benefit from the antioxidants. I’ve heard using milk eliminates the antioxidant properties.

I see that you are new here, and we love new people – but please remain courteous.

Edit – thank you for removing your remark.

Agave nectar is one of those “health” products that is marketed as an alternative to sugar and isn’t actually healthy for you. Stick with raw honey or pure cane sugar for sweetening your tea if you must :) milk is likely carcinogenic as well as reduces your body’s ability to absorb antioxidants. Lemon increases the effects of antioxidants. These are my opinions based on what may or may not be thorough research of these items. Not saying you should/shouldnt use these things, but you should google and read medical journals on these things and formulate an opinion for yourself. :)

Thank you whispering pines for your answer. I’ve been drinking hot lemon water (fresh squeezed) in my mornings (which is in the pm, since I work overnights). I’ve been doing it for the past few weeks, I have definitely noticed it has helped me stay hydrated, my knees/joints don’t swell up as badly, etc. I will probably just stick to raw honey/lemon. However the last time I went into Teavana, they were pushing their way overpriced rock sugar. $10/lb no thanks. Lol

I mainly wanted to see if anyone was using anything like this in the teas they drink.

No worries, and welcome to this awesome community! :)
