SOLD OUT - Damn Fine Teas [Series 1 Re-Release]

EDIT: Well, well, well! That didn’t take very long at all! I like to think that Steepster was largely responsible for the quick dispersion of the last of Series 1. It’s too bad we weren’t able to take advantage of any Steepster Select givings, but maybe we’ll see it pop up for Series 3, Overlords?

The title kind of explains it all, but I wanted to pop in and give a heads up to you Steepsterites because of your general rockingness. Andrews & Dunham have made a limited quantity of the Series 1 tea available again, so if you’ve seen the reviews floating around here, or perhaps if you have tried their Series 2 before and wanted to give Series 1 a go like I did, here’s your chance!

Series 1 consists of Dragonwell, Nepal, and Ceylon and here’s a link for you.

They say that Series 1 will be truly gone once these sell out, so make like Apache and jump on it! [Also, Series 3 is reportedly on its way, according to their blog.]

Ring, ring!

Hello? Oh, hi Mr. Claus, it’s nice to hear from you. How have you been?

Excellent, that’s good to hear.

Ah, yes, I’ve been keeping busy. But I’m sure things are calm here compared to how busy you must be right now!

What’s that?

Oh, yes, of course I’ll pass along the message. I take it your internet is still down?

I know, it’s really a shame Verizon won’t run cables up there, but I guess they have their reasons. Maybe you should consider investing in one of those 3G network cards.

Haha! Not a problem, consider it done! Good luck this year!

Sorry about that Jillian, but someone just called and wanted me to tell you that Andrews & Dunham ships to Canada for $5.06 a set. [I do believe that’s only $0.06 more than U.S. shipping!] HAPPY FESTIVUS!

I really do not know whether to be pleased with this announcement (I do want these teas) or dismayed that takgoti is apparently going to tempt me into taking back my word that I would stop buying tea for a while. Tell me, takgoti, are they truly magnificent? Truly worth throwing all tea caution to the wind?

I am doing my best Mr. Burns impression, though you cannot see it.

I never got to try Series 1; I only found out about A+D through Steepster, so I started out at Series 2. Reading the reviews of S1 made me want to try these really badly, though, so when I saw this on twitter, I broke my own no-buying-tea-pact. With that said, I can’t say I’m going to be much help in the way of trying to support YOUR tea embargo.

They’re already almost half-way through what’s left of their S1 inventory. Not to pressure you or anything, but DOOOOO EEEEET.

Is anyone else really excited to see what Series 3 is going to be? Apparently they’re approving the labels for printing. Squeee!

Evil temptress.

Well I read the site and they said the hold-up for Series 3 is a tea from China, so I’m guessing it’s either a white tea or a green tea.

And Carolyn? If Takgoti sucked me in, despite my resolution to not buy tea until after X-mas, then you have to join me in the land of tea-buying temptation! ;)

I wish I could get this brand locally or even regionally – an hour or two drive…sigh…

Carolyn said

I can’t get much of anything local. I pretty much mail order everything.

I’m near the same boat, Carolyn!

Me too. Non grocery store I have 3 options. One has a few things I like but not much, one has a few more, and one I haven’t been to. (YET=P) The one I frequent sells adagio products, but they’re more expensive ($6.99 for the tea filters) and I don’t get the frequent cup points. So, no matter what amazing tea shop I find, I’ll always buy those online.

If it weren’t for the net I would be reduced to tetley’s or Lipton. Well, no I can get Republic of tea bags and a few Teasetc. locally – new venders. Life in a tiny town.

A little elf told me that A&D’s Series 1 might make an appearance in Select with a discount pretty soon…

takgoti said

Darn you. Already got mine.

I’d shake my fist, but I don’t really mind paying A+D a little extra money.

Jillian said

Whoot! I’ll have to watch the page like a hawk. A hawk with glasses. ;D

EDIT: P.S. you’d better hurry Jason, otherwise there might not be any stock left for them to discount!

I am currently making the “Bro, this would make you the coolest person ever if you got this for me for X-mas. Seriously.” plea.

To wait for the Steepster Selects discount or not to wait? I do want to get these.

Unfortunately, it looks like A&D is going to run out of their Series 1 before it makes it into Select…sorry folks :(

But we’re looking to get their Series 3 in Select when that comes out. So hopefully that makes up for it.

Jillian said

Since this isn’t going to make it to Steepster Select I might aswell go ahead and buy a set right now. I know you tried, Jason. pats

PeteG said

You broke dwn!!!

Jillian said

LOL, yeah unfortunately I don’t have the willpower to resist really good (or maybe that’s ‘Damn, Fine’) tea – particularly when this is likely the last chance to get it.

PeteG said

Soooo…did u purchase #1 yet? I wonder how long it will take to be delivered here to NS? This is almost better than Xmas morning…waiting to open my stocking…aarrgh!

Jillian said

Yup, I just completed my order.

In my experience delivery to my home in B.C. takes approx 2 weeks, although it really depends on the tea company and how quickly they process their orders and whatnot. I’m hoping I’ll get it by the 25th – but a late X-mas gift would be perfectly fine too. :D

Down to 14 sets!

Thanks for letting us know, Jason. I had been leaning towards waiting it out for a few days. Now I have just ordered mine.

And thanks takgoti for letting us know about it.

I’m order #528 on 12/13. Everyone us who ordered or is going to order, please let us know when yours arrives.

will do…can’t wait.

To get this or not to get this… that is the question. I’ve been wanting to try these so bad but I have SO much tea that it is becoming out of control!

I got an email at 12:42pm today that my Series 1 has shipped. Yay! I wonder if it’s because I gave them a cookie recipe. I wonder how long my tea will be in transit. I wish I could track it cause I would, several times a day.
