Yatra Tea Company (a relatively new vendor) - Free Shipping!
Hi everyone, this is Vikram, founder of Yatra Tea Company (https://www.yatrateacompany.com/), a Somerville, MA based company. We launched in July of this year. We specialize in the sourcing of single origin, premium grade, loose leaf teas from India and Nepal. We have a small, but artful curation of teas from Darjeeling, the Nilgiris, Kangra Valley, Assam (just arrived, will be available soon), and Nepal. We source directly from estate thanks to my lifelong relationship with childhood friends who are producers and exporters of premium teas.
10% of our profits are donated to Induz (http://induz.org/), an NGO. Specifically, we support Project Kopou (http://induz.cloudely.com/project-kopou/) an educational initiative that provides formal education and vocational training to children of tea estate workers.

Any plans to offer Canadian shipping?
Hi – I’ve shipped a couple of times to Canada, though I don’t offer it just yet because I haven’t been able to find good enough rates. I do plan on adding it soon. If something catches your eye, email me at [email protected] and I’ll work out shipping at a reasonable rate. Hopefully I can get to the point where I just offer free shipping/low rates for all shipping!
I already see a problem with your website. I clicked on a tea page and then selected an amount. There was no price shown? Do I have to place it in my cart to see the price. This is a pain and will guarantee that I don’t buy from you.
Hi Allan – sorry you had that experience. The price is listed on the “shop” page under each image, and then again on each individual tea page at the top, under the estate name. Perhaps it can be better placed near the quantity. It would definitely be a poor experience to not know the price until adding to cart.
If I have to hunt around for the price you need to redesign your website if you want anyone to buy from you. Or keep it as it is and certainly get no business from me.
Hi Allan – it is unfortunate you had that poor experience. We haven’t had any similar complaints in the past (though our sample size isn’t that extensive), but your case is enough reason for us to improve the experience. If you visit our site, you will notice we have positioned the price in a more convenient (perhaps even more logical) place. Hope you give us an opportunity to mail you some tea :)
