Taiwan Oolong Joy and teas from Chen Huan Tang (a.k.a. Tillerman's Laoshi)
I’ve recently launched Taiwan Oolong Joy, a micro business selling—you guessed it—Taiwanese tea on TeaForum. I primarily focus on gaoshan or green oolong, although I have roasted oolong, black tea, and even a Fushoushan Green in my catalogue as well. I source many of these teas from a supplier whose contact info was given to me by Ethan Kurland, a well-known vendor on TeaForum until his retirement in late 2024. I’m happy to report that the quality of this supplier’s offerings is still top notch.
I’m also in the process of ordering heavy roasted teas from Chen Huan Tang, who was Tillerman’s teacher in Taiwan and whose Dong Ding has a high reputation. I’m closing preorders at midnight this Monday, October 20. I’m aware this doesn’t give you much time to look over the price list and potentially buy these teas, but you’re welcome to browse everything else in my vendor thread. I might also have 50 g or so of these teas available after the preordering period.
You’re welcome to check out my list of teas below:

Please let me know if you have questions. I’d be happy to hear from you on Steepster, and my business email is oolongjoy (at) gmail (dot) com.
Also, from now on, I won’t post negative reviews of other Taiwan tea vendors and obviously I won’t review my own products. However, I love being a member of the Steepster community and plan to keep posting tasting notes on Chinese, Indian, and even Taiwanese teas. No doubt I’ll continue to recommend Wang, Song, Hojo, and other great Taiwanese tea sources.
How exciting! Congratulations!
Thank you! :) I never got to try Laoshi’s Dong Ding before Tillerman closed, so I’m excited to be able to do that and to let others revisit these teas.
Was Tea Forum also affected by the Amazon issue? I tried to get on right now and it gave me a 502 error.
Nope, this is an ongoing issue with TeaForum, especially during “peak” hours, which can last from noon into the evening. I can usually get through if I’m persistent. It’s not the greatest place to have my catalogue, but my customers are there and I haven’t launched a website yet.
Exciting and interesting news! Congratulations my friend!
Currently I believe I have enough of everything needed, but I will place an order one wonderful day, to support you at least!
