What's on your "Tea Do" list?

I find that I always have goals of a sort when it comes to my tea collection. My loose goals are below, and I would be interested to hear yours as well!

Short term:
- Work on getting rid of tidbits of teas, the ones that have one or two cups in there.
- Go through the flight of White2tea puerhs that is waiting for me
- Sample and review the What-Cha teas I have, and catch back up on editing his site.
- Send “surprise tea” to friends more often

Longer term:
- Move all teas into tins and get them on to a shelf.
- Keep a maximum of 50 teas on hand, the ones I really love. I can still try samples of new things but this is the goal for the main stockpile.

Likewise I’d like to finish off my tidbits of teas. I’d like to organise my “staple” teas (the ones I drink regularly and always replace when I finish them). Lastly I want to get some more teas (such a hardship), since I’m making progress on finishing my tidbit teas and running low on options.

Short term
- Sipdown all of the teeny samples I have
- Review what I’ve been drinking
- Get rid of teas I’ve found I don’t love. Can’t decide how to get rid of them though.
- Buy tea from the long list of vendors I’ve been wanting to try, and stop making impulse purchases.

Long term
- Organize cupboard with matching (or at least complementary tins) that stack properly

p.s. sent you a PM but I don’t know if the system is woking.

I can’t get into my inbox, but I got an email with the content of your message. I hope you enjoy the tea! It made me happy to send it.

Hehe-I just love the term “tea-do list”. Makes me smile whenever I read it!
Short Term:
-Finish trying all of my samples from swaps/tea orders
-Sip down all of the small teas (smaller than 1oz)that I have
-Sell/swap all of the teas and samples that I didn’t like or want

Long Term:
-Decide which teas I want to keep on hand at all times
-Sipdown all of the teas that I don’t want to buy more of
-Put all the teas I want to always have on hand, into tins.

That’s all I can think of at the moment. But still loving this idea of a tea-do list. :P

1. Find more time to write tasting notes.
2. Cut down on tea purchases and only buy the “good stuff”.
3. Organize my cupboard.

-Try and review my three remaining Teavivre samples they sent for free.
-Get in some gongfu time – ideally with one of the Mandala samples I haven’t tried yet.
-Finish up some more of the older teas – this was going well, but now the beau is wanting to replace everything we get finished off. Not helpful!
-Keep exploring puerh and learn more about it.
-MAYBE try branching out beyond Chinese black teas. That’s a pretty serious maybe.

I’ve been drinking tea for years and had finally reached a point where I didn’t want to buy all the tea but Steepster is obsessed now with companies I have never tried and it’s making me envious. There are serious trends around here, haha. I remember when 52Teas and then Della Terra were the highest ranked teas and as someone mentioned the other day it is almost all Whispering Pines right now with a hint of Butiki, Teavivre and Mandala. Interestingly, those are all companies with a lot of unflavoured or delicately flavoured teas. Maybe we’re all on similar tea trajectories. :)

I love my Chinese blacks too! But I’ve really liked the Taiwanese blacks I’ve tried, and I would like to try more Assams too. :D

I’ve had one (?) Taiwanese black from Butiki and I loved it. Assams I do not generally like. Too bitter. I seem to like ceylon and Nepal. I think that there are definitely assams and darjeelings and other things out there to love though!

My to-do list mostly is about getting my stored puerh teas ready for colder weather. Need to bring the tea fridge in off the 3 season porch. Already brought in the ceramics. Need to add additional humidity with the drier weather.

My super short-term goal is getting through the Lewis & Clark TTB.

Short-term:
- Drink and review the remaining teas from the Mandala shu sampler and the teas I won from Teavivre’s contest
- Actually try teas I ordered last month (mostly Simple Loose Leaf)
- I probably should organize my grocery bag full of teas, but I have no other way to put them…
- Finish off samples from swaps

Long-term:
- Familiarize myself with more shu and use my yixing that I bought myself for Christmas (which I shan’t season until Christmas)
- Put a soul into Georgie Pie, my piggy tea pet
- Slowly, slowly drink and swap out teas I’m not fond of
- Read more about tea

Short-term:
-Finish samples from swaps
-Finish teas in my “sipdown” box
-Start keeping track of how much I’m spending on tea
-Sell or swap the teas I don’t like that I’ve been keeping
-Think of a good holiday gift to send my Steepster friends! :)

Long-term:
-Continue doing tons of swaps! :D
-Develop a tea budget and continue to track spending
-Try tea from all the companies in my “tea queue”
-Become more familiar with Indian black teas
-Experiment more with adding my own ingredients to high-quality teas
-Blend my own teas?

Taste everything ONCE and then rehome everything I don’t love. It is a massive undertaking especially since I’ve been terrible about mailing things out that I’ve promised.

My main goal is to get back around 100 teas. I want to sip down some not so favorite teas, or give them away, so I can restock my cupboard with ones I love! And I need to sip down summer blends as winter is coming and they will sit and go stale all winter :( lol. Also, I need to get reviews up for some free samples I have received! Just need to get in the mood to drink those types of tea again! Haha, lots to do, and all I want to drink is chai. #teaworldproblems
