227 Tasting Notes
ok i just did an experiment. i steeped the green tea for the second time. in it i added just like half a teaspoon of the white xmas mix – the delicate tasting ones with strong smell. all that in about 3-4dl of water. i also forgot about it so it has steeped for like 10 minutes if not more. however im about to try it.
smells nice. color is pretty much like the green tea itself. putting little bit of sugar in it because thats how i like the green jasmine tea. should taste mostly like that one even tho it smells like cinnamon and cloves. just tasted it. well definitely like it slightly more than the white tea. and the white tea made the peppery taste of the second steep of the green one weaker. not a bad combo really. i dont know its not so bad but it cant beat the first steep of the green jasmine. i just love that one…
i actually think now that i dont particularly like the taste of cloves in tea. its bit weird.
not giving a rating to this one. after all its just an experiment…
I just came home half frozen from the carnival. Need hot nice tea.
This is my first oolong try.
Smell – well like tea. Guess kinda like black tea just less strong. I suppose its how oolong smells lol.
Color – clear, light brownish.
Taste – i like it. Didnt put in any sugar and dont want too because it tastes good to me. Not sure if i can taste that cherry part. It tastes to me like less strong black tea. Only thing i can compare to. Solid rating.
Preparation
I visited a cute little tea shop today that was opened in Rijeka just recently.
Got this tea and oolong – both i have never tried before.
Tea is categorized as white even tho it has a big mix of ingredients.
First of all it smells amazing – the loose tea itself and the tea and whole room once u make it. Smells mostly of cloves. And that’s basically smell of winter and xmas. Its mixed with various fruit smells and cinnamon. Very very strong and aromatic.
Color is clear and very bright yellow. Almost white. I thought i havent steeped it long enough because of the color. But the smell was talking oh you so did…
Lets go taste it :) Without sugar first (even tho i always like it more with a lil bit). Mmmm i actually think i could drink this one without. Tasty and quite sweet itself. I can taste so many aromas. But its also very very mild. Very delicate. OK i just put in just a bit of sugar and yes – this is first time i can say the tea is better without. Maybe honey would be better for it.
I’ll try to steep it bit longer next time, would like it to be slightly stronger. Or put in more to steep.
So overall, it smells like winter but it doesn’t taste spicy enough. I might have done something wrong this time. Will experiment more with this one till i find a perfect measure. Haha red hot wine would help it…
This is the first white tea i’ve tried and i know in theory that they are supposed to be really mild and hence not for amateurs. That’s why my rating will probably be lower than it would be by someone more experienced.
ok so again a new tea from something that isn’t like anything i ever tasted before.
its the second time i’m drinking it. didn’t really like it first time. its pure rooibos content. just that. no caffeine either. i bought it in a pharmacy as a medical tea meant to strengthen the immune system.
taste – i put in more sugar this time (one teaspoon). makes it way better. reminds me a bit of that hibiscus taste that i can find in rose bud tea my mum always drinks. i used to like that tea. then they decided to mix it with hibiscus and it became less tasty. tho back then a sweetened fruit tea was the only kind id consider drinking. i’m liking new stuff these days. its an decent tea. quite drinkable. pretty basic with aromas. i like the other ones better tho. i got a feeling that a mix with citrus fruit or something could make rooibos tea much better. maybe vanilla. its asking for something else to make it great. but even like this – its healthy, it tastes decent and its very refreshing. still good cold.
color – that i love. deep clear orangy. really looks good.
smell – weird and stronger than all the other ones i had so far. not bad.
ill leave it with a humble vote. because i’m sure there are way better rooibos teas out there. just gotta discover it…
Preparation
i discovered yesterday that i can make at least 2 infusions with the teabag :) for some reason second infusion seems always way more peppery. its still quite tasty tho, just less of those aromas and more of that ginger thing…
Preparation
OK, so this is my second log and my third try of drinking this tea. Its the first time i steeped it for 2-3 minutes as it says on the box. Well first time i didn’t forget about the tea bag ;)
Smell – at first even the teabag itself smelled bit nasty to me. Now the smell suits me way better. I guess I’m associating it with the taste. It ain’t about the smell tho.
Color – its nice – like deep yellow (yellow with a pinch of orange) and clear.
Taste – mmm way milder than the first 2 tries. Makes sense… Its way better too. I mean i liked it before too, more with every try but this shorter steep makes me feel the aromas way better. I put just a bit of sugar in it so its soothingly sweet at first. Somehow calming. Then the herb aroma fills my mouth and nose. Beautifull. Then i get the pinch of peppery feeling somewhere in the back of my mouth, mostly on the mouth wall and slightly on my tongue. Im guessing thats from ginger. The aromas stick with me for a while.
Actually when i think of it I’m really loving this tea – its very relaxing with a pinch of something more to it. And very herbal – very tea like ;) Good rating again. I’ll come back to it when i know more about other teas and try different brands. So far it makes me wanna continue drinking tea.
Preparation
Its the first unordinary tea I ever bought out of curiosity. Ginseng sounded quite exotic.
I love to drink it in the evening. Its fruity taste takes care of my thirst very fast and keeps it that way for a longer time. I like it even cold. Just a little bit of sugar or homemade honey makes it better than most juices.
The taste of ginseng and the aroma and feeling that sticks in my mouth was very strange to me at first (never bad). After like 10 teabags I’m starting to love it. Smells nice too.
Its getting a good score from me (a bigtime tea amateur).
Btw love the package and the fact that each teabag is sealed so it doesn’t wind out.
