drank Vanilla Bean by Mighty Leaf Tea

This was delicious! It basically was like drinking the “Creme” part of my favorite tea by Tease, Earl Grey Creme, which quickly becomes just Earl Grey if left in the cupboard too long. I wonder if some of the less positive reviews got older batches that had lost their vanilla, which seems to dissipate really quickly? Mine was perfect – more vanilla than black tea taste, but with enough for it to taste like tea. I also didn’t steep for very long, so maybe that allows the vanilla to shine.

I wasn’t feeling too great this morning, so I didn’t actually finish drinking this – hot tea does not sit well in an upset tummy for me. The taste was amazing, though, and I bet with milk or cream, it’s like drinking dessert. I’ll have to try it again when I’ve got my appetite back.

I always remember liking this tea when I pick it out and then find it not as amazing as I remember. I don’t like to steep it very much or the hibiscus gets out of hand. Still, the raspberry part of the blend is very present and I think I should try it as a sweetened iced tea before I decide not to buy it again.

drank St. James Ceylon by Harrods

One of my favorite black teas. Both of the black teas I drink the most are from Harrod’s of London from…two years ago now I suppose. And they no longer sell them or don’t sell them online. So I’m gonna have to find some new favorites pretty soon.

I have an unnatural fondness for strawberry. Almost anything strawberry – smoothies, yogurts, ice cream, etc. But I hate artificial strawberry. Rarely does a “natural flavor” create a convincing strawberry for me. I have to believe this was the real deal, or if not, the best natural flavor facsimile ever. I think it would probably be better iced and sweetened, but it was still very nice hot.

I haven’t had tea in quite a while, other than bottled Peach Oo-La-Long or Black Forest Berry. This is my all-time favorite peachy tea.
