New Tasting Notes
This is one of my favourite greens with additives. It’s got a really sweet flavour. Hard to describe it exactly, and this is going to sound really strange, but it’s sort of like Dr. Pepper only not. This particular batch that I’ve got though is getting on in age, so it’s turned a little dull, but it’s still enjoyable.
I think it’s alright. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it, but I have a few bags I got in a trade and I like it enough to drink them.
As others have noted, it tastes mostly of spearmint (with just a bit of chamomile). This is fine with me, as I like spearmint, but if you don’t, you won’t like this tea.
I tried this at my friend’s house and discovered she has amazing taste in tea, ha ha. The combination of flavors really does almost do a dance on your tongue and a bit down your throat as it goes. Recommended if you like any of the following: mint tea, rooibos tea AND/OR chamomile tea.
I just don’t think green rooibos is for me. The strawberry/citrus blend is wonderful—though my bag seems (happily) free of marshmallows—but there is an underlying wrong, chemical-y taste to the whole concoction. It’s not undrinkable, but I’m going to have to try icing it to see if that cuts the weird flavor.
I only bought this because they were out of regular strawberry and I wanted some strawberry tea. I have a strong dislike of cream in tea (Milk! ALWAYS milk! Never cream! Milk!) but I was desperate enough to try it on the promise that it was supposedly sweet and summerly. The leaves smell lovely but all I can taste in the cup is the black tea and the cream. No berries of any kind. It’s drinkable, but I won’t be buying this again.
I’m honestly not certain if it’s the green rooibos, which I’ve not had before, or the pomegranate overpowering everything else, but I just cannot get into this one, which is a shame, as it smells heavenly in the bag. The hints of apple and lemon in the background are interesting, but overwhelmed by an almost synthetic fruitiness.
