Gongfu!

Osmanthus, while not a new flavour to me, is something I’ve only quite recently come to appreciate. So I was definitely looking out for scented teas at @torontoteafestival that included it, and I was very happy when I came across this one. It’s a smooth, full-bodied black tea with a lot of malt, slight woodiness, and some natural floral character of its own – osmanthus aside. However, the osmanthus does kind of steal the show with its lush and peach-like stonefruit notes and that sweet honey finish. How I slept on it for so long is really beyond me…

I’m excited to sip through this tea, but I also really would like to explore more osmanthus scented teas (especially oolongs) as part of this “flavour rediscovery” so, please, if anyone has some favourite osmanthus teas to recommend please let me know!!

I enjoy the osmanthus scented Alishan from Wang Family Tea. I hope it gets restocked this year!
